I believe your perception is skewed.

Mia is absolutely responsible for pushing Lacey in that direction, she admits it and she knows this, to the point of describing it as her burden, it is clearly stated by her in the dialogues.

She found a vulnerable and broken person, and she used her to have fun, to up the ante every single time.
She was recording all the stuff, do you think she was filming a documentary?
She was living Lacey sex life vicariously and having fun doing so, all the while hating MC because she felt he was stealing her toy attention.

If by cheering her on you mean being an enabler then yeah, she might not be directly responsible about the ketamine use, but she enabled it and enablers are often worse than users.

She enabled, pushed and cheered a self destruction ritual for 2 years.
For fun.

She wants to see Lacey's life crushing and burning down (this is stated by her), so she can be again in the position that she had in college.

She is trying to find a new woman for MC in Kelly, she played a "game" with MC for 3 months.

Now let me state the obvious, rape is horrible and that should not have happened to her, it is tragic.
Does that give her a free pass to be the monster she is? No.

The attempts stop when she gets the attention she is looking for.

According to Mia Lacey was suicidal during their time together too. I dont know how reliable she is though.
I just dont think she was craving atention. Or not THAT kind of attention. Not more than average human. Dont know from where this is coming from. Agree to disagree on that one. I think it was more like escapism type of cope in her case. Rather than face problems she was escaping to drugs and sex. And by some miracle they reconected when they both were at their lowest point(According to Mia again Lacey was between ending it all or cut and run away from problems with Issac(i pieced that together from various dialogues with Mia and Lacey)). Quite romantic now that i think about it.

And i agree absolving Lacey of all responsibility is wrong and and it is not whan i want to do. I just honestly cant only hate her, i pity her too. What she did to MC is very cruel and unfair, my heart is bleeding for the guy. But she did not had happy college life either, she fought her own battle and now is wracked with guilt and shame. And cant stop lying to shield herself and MC from the consequences of her actions. I feel for both of these poor souls.

Anyway thats enough of that, I feel like i am brooding to much about this game so I am prescribing myself vanilla/harem therapy for now. Will be waiting for the continuation, hoping that things will become better for the couple.

To anyone who is reading, if You are into juicy interpersonal drama, I recomend. Give it a try.

For me, it's the themes and topics described in the game, they way too close to home to not keep me engaged.

I am enjoying dissecting them and read different perspectives.
While the writing has some high and lows, it is still an interesting and engaging read.

This is not true. both dialogues from Mia and dialogues from the Lacey reject this, especially the dialogues from Mia

Here are two reasons why there are so many different interpretations of this game among users:
1: The story is deep, complex, and non-clichéd, with deep and complex relationships and rich and complex characters
2: The developer's approach is to initially show a deceptive appearance and then gradually reveal the truth. We've seen this multiple times in Arc 1

This approach makes discussing this game very difficult. It's not like a vanilla game where it's easy to discuss. The reason I don't participate in discussions, even though I really like this game, is precisely because I'm sure that the perspectives are so different that no conclusion will be reached from the discussion

I think i am almost at the end of chapter one, and i still don´t know if it´s worth it to keep trying to make this marriage better.

And the dev's said that act 2 and the rest ain't gonna be like act 1. Players are gonna have a lot more choices.
Plus, in the Developer Notes, he basically said this game's gonna be disappointing for NTR fans
So yeah, I'm sure we can save this marriage, it's totally worth it, and the end of act 1 finished up real sweet.

I think I'm in the same place the MC is in with Lacey I LOVE and fucking HATE this VN/Lacey, it's/she's so good at hurting me but I can't stop reading it, it's like the most beautiful train wreck I've ever seen It's impossible for me to give up on this story/Lacey there's too much good here to just throw it away and holy shit the MC's dialog about her rules was the saddest thing I've ever read... put an edited version of it on Facebook and my Mom damn near immediately had to check who these people were, did I need help or what was going on?!?! lmao

I don't think I am assigning much, I am simply looking at the actions and what is being said directly by Mia.
She did push Lacey once on the Jared thing, she admits she wants to see how everything crash and burn, she says that she wants to see Lacey do that.
Moreover she doesn't push back at all on the cucking, aside from "hey what a bad idea", when she has shown that she could be more active, such as the tennis practical joke scene (which sadly is left hanging in the air like many others).
About the telling of the past, I feel like it is another manipulation attempt, to be a victim once again, so that she can avoid the results of her actions (another never explored issue) or maybe way to pull MC closer to her.

As for the rest, I tend to agree with you fully.

Truly one of the best scenes in the game, again left hanging and gets answered with: "hey what about me fucking other men".
It could have been a fantastic closure for the Act 1, Lacey finally understanding how much Mc did for her, more than she actually realized.
We get forced cucking x2, oh and lets not forget that this scene is preceded by "I found a replacement, his name is Will"

I honestly don't hate any of the characters aside a strong dislike for maybe Mia, I hate that there is never a resolution of any of the situations, everything is left hanging.
And I doubt the author will go back to any of them as the story pushes forward, I wrote about the most egregius ones in other posts: Damian, Tennis practical joke, work crushes, Will, clothes, Isaac and so on.
Like most of the miniarcs and events are incomplete, they never get resolved, MC caves in and we jump to the next.

I hate the situations where MC gets told horrible things or is subjected to nefarious humilitaions and we get "oh I am just not good at controling my jealousy".
Since I mentioned it: Lacey says that she spent all night making another man grope her butt, why? because she thinks the MC gave her a bad answer (we then find out it was Mia and the messages do not reflect well on her), so the MC once again is manipulated in never being able to express his anger or even better, instead of asking why MC is angry, the first response is attacking him on his weak point.
Result? MC apologizes for his bad jealousy management.

That said, the story is compelling and I enjoy it, else I wouldn't spend this much time talking about it
