You are on to something there. My son is a certified personal trainer, and he will tell you from a professional standpoint that the guy in this pic is almost always stronger and more durable than the 4% body fat over defined Mr. Universe body type. There is such a thing as the perfect balance between body fat and muscle. It varies from individual to individual and it also varies with climate. Another little known fact; how much you can bench press has very little to do with how strong you are. How much you can dead lift is a much better indicator. (y)
Seriously? He's still a personal trainer in his 80's???? That's impressive!

The images in this post are unedited, unpolished, not upscaled and included just to give you an idea of what to expect in 0.3 - I have no completed assets yet, so these are just the raw material. Fingers will look dumb, swords will be at strange angles, some blemishes/tattoos/body paints are subject to change/deletion. It may be that none of these make it into 0.3, as I have a about 1200 images generated for each female character featured in this update. These are just a few of the sort of SFW ones.

I've been back a couple of days and started work on 0.3. Tomorrow morning I will put the links up for v0.28 for public access.

I've already published the patch notes for 0.25, 0.26 and 0.27, so I won't repeat them here.

Patch notes for 0.28:

All versions:

Corrected an error introduced with the option to skip Isabella's sex scene in Chapter 1.

Corrected a missing dialogue tag in one of the new scenes.

Improved the transition flow in Emelia's camp scene in the first Cartographer's Guild mission.

Mobile Version:

I know I said I wasn't going to support the mobile version, but I took advantage of having it available to play through whilst I was away. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it all worked fine and looked really good on the small screen. So, whilst it isn't a main version, I did want to make some improvements. The first of which is to remove the text box background so you can see what is behind it.

The mobile version is much harder to modify than the main version. I've been trying to get the side images to work in a way that doesn't blot out the text and to add a button that completely removes the onscreen UI (an equivalent to the 'h' key for the PC version). But it's proven surprisingly stubborn at resisting my efforts. I'll have another go at it, but for now it's just the removal of the textbox.

0.3 progresses well, considering that beyond planning it out and starting some of the image generations, I only really started working on it in earnest on Sunday. However, the story is written and about 55% of it is transferred into renpy. It's about 11,000 words. Planning out the story, writing and then editing it are my favourite parts of the process. This next mission takes Emelia and the MC into the rainforests that cover about a third of the border between the Triumvirate and it's northern border with Cantabria. They have been chartered by the military to go on a rescue and reconnaissance mission, following their own mapping team falling overdue.

There is a significant step in their relationship plus some experimenting with metaphysics that takes place and the MC learns a few survival tips and skills from Emelia. The tone of this mission returns to the darker one of Chapter 2. There is going to be some fairly gruesome, non sexual, horror content and violence in this one. There will of course also be plenty of magical wardrobe malfunctions and some naughty stuff going on.

I've also generated most of the base images for the sprites. I expect to finish transferring the story and scripting the choices and stat changes tomorrow. So I will likely be starting to build sprites and create the backgrounds then as well. As soon as I have some working sprites and completed backgrounds, I can also start producing animations. So it sort of all ramps up from here.

On Thursday I'll add up some more bonus content for all members. Hope you all enjoy 0.28 when it comes out tomorrow.

This thing that your clothes are also your disposable magical recharger is gratitying.
I wonder if someone had the idea to use some dildos in the same way.
Technically, there is nothing stopping them doing this. Would be an interesting take on the pleasure/narcotic style use of the enchanted items I guess...

Great update.
One small bug noticed - Emelia's "bruise" changes sides during the scene.

Sara's codex entry has her name wrong - it says she married Carl Barker and that their first child was called Lily Barker.

It isn't a bug, it is an easter egg! In Young Frankenstein the Igor's hunchback changed side in every scene.
:ROFLMAO:
Probably it is really a bug, but it doesn't matter.

Yeah. In some culture there is the idea that the sexual activity is an activator of the magical power, so I was imaging how the people would take advantage of that, if there is the same concept in Luminaria's world.

Aha! Yes... early drafts had them as the Barker's, until I decided that name didn't sound right and changed them to Sinclair. I'm planning a total overhaul of the character bio's shortly - at the moment they are preconstructed images, I want them to be dynamic text, like the new codex is.

The bruise changing side I hadn't noticed but I suspect I know why. I was wrestling with framepack getting it to animate the healing scene and it just would not do it. It kept having Emelia trying to heal Lilly. So I had to flip the image and then framepack started to animate them more how I wanted. I'll take a look to see if I can flip the other images without messing up the scene, thanks.

Yea, it's actually a really interesting idea. The more I think about it, the more I think I can do something with it. I don't think I would do much in terms of having this as a practical combat related thing, but there is definitely mileage there as something in the leisure aspect of magic use. I could also consider what an enchanted item that was inside a person's body could do that's different from those outside.

You can use that also to explore the different personality of the various characters: for example a character with a more exhibitionist personality could wear a single shirt at time (like Emelia did), but a character with a more chaste trait would prefer to use two shirts. In this way, when the inner one would be totally destroied, the external one should be still partially intact, giving the chance to the character to wear another shirt, before also the second one will disapear.
The possibilities are almost infinite.

I had briefly thought about this and realised I needed a magical bullshit device to prevent excessive layering. And to make sure people didn't end up layered up with more and bigger clothes, not less. Some enchantments only work if they are in contact with the skin (taps especially, so if you layer a tap over your defensive enchantment, it will just get cut through when the attack strikes the defensive one underneath. So there is that... this is something that Ethan is going to be working on with Lilly and Heidi as part of the family business stuff, more adaptable and flexible enchantments and how to layer them without them interfering with each other.

There is a skill issue to enchanting in that the bigger the item and the more powerful the enchantment, and the denser the material, the more skill and energy are needed to enchant it. Which translates into rarity and expense.

But yes, some of the concept images and animations, particularly the ones where Alice is looking kinda beat up and her clothes and armour are damaged, are the result of her having multiple pieces of enchanted gear layered on and around each other, and one or more of them have failed.

My idea was more about how to describe the different personalities of the various characters or the evolution of these personalities. For example the first months Alice will wear an excessive amount of clothes, because she fear to stay suddenly naked among the crowd, but more time she spend in Luminaria, she will wear less clothes because she will become more fatalist about that and more aware that everyone think it is ridicoulus wear too many layers of clothes.
About how to avoid the excessive layering, you could use this logic: only the items (clothes, jewels or something else) that are use to boost and/or recharge the magical power of a character, must be in contact with his skin. The items that have a magical power per se (swords, armours, torches…) can be separate from the character's skin, but in every case the use of the magical power stored in the item, will consume the item itself. So a person doesn't need to wear a magical armour directly on his skin and that armour, which is able to protect a person by the fire (for example), will be consumed by the automatic activation of its power only when its wearer will be exposed to the fire, not when he will be hit by a weapon.

Ah, I see what you mean. Yes, I agree. That is what I expect to happen, particularly with Sarah. She starts out wearing dirndl dresses, but once she stops being a barmaid and starts being... something else, she will grow in confidence and demeanour and be happy to wear heavily enchanted outfits, which are the type of outfits that are in her concept images and videos.

I was thinking about the specific things activate and drain the enchantment thing on my morning run today actually! What you say here is exactly right. For example, this morning I was thinking that you probably wouldn't want to enchant your shoes... if they fail then suddenly being bare foot in the middle of combat is going to be a disaster. Then I thought actually... you could have a "surefoot" enchantment, that only activates if you land in a way that would have turned your ankle, for example. It's unlikely to fail in combat but would be a useful thing to have.
