I found a similar workaround for 0.40:
1. Open not_auth.js, find: if(_0x322487[_0x24f168(0xa81,'zDUL')
2. Replace with: if(false && _0x322487[_0x24f168(0xa81,'zDUL')
3. Save and start game.
The specific line of code to find will likely change every version but can be found again with a little sleuthing. Thanks to the person who originally found this out
Install atom text editor after that right click on not_auth.js and select open with and then select atom. That will take you to the atom press ctrl+F and do those 3 steps
