I can't speak for anyone else here, but I stopped funding this game (not to mention playing it) once it became clear to me that no patch was coming to fix the censorship crap that Patreon dragged Lurking Hedgehog through (by restoring the original and, to me, much more interesting relationships between the characters). I'm suspicious I'm not the only one who did that either.
Too bad. Seems like games like this get better funding on Patreon when some enterprising soul makes an incest patch for them. And if some rando account released such a patch on F95, no matter who the actual creator of said patch was, it's not like any of the fans or even Patreon itself would even know who made and released it. Yet, it could probably get the game more funding. And the people who hate incest could just play the unpatched game and be perfectly fine without having any good reason to bitch about there being a completely optional patch that some of the people who help pay for the development of the game enjoy. Oh well.

So you stopped paying for the game because of Patreons rules, which are actually okay, because 95% (maybe more) of the people don't consider incest ok (even in games), and it would probably ruin Patreons reputation if it was found out there were hundreds of games that include it.
After all that you expect someone to invest hours of their time to make a patch FOR FREE and then update it every time the game is updated? Also, since a lot of backend stuff is changed every update it might not just be 3 lines of text that need updating every update, it might be that they have to redo it all over again. FOR FREE.

Knowing your market is important for the porn devs (If they want to make it profitable). This game pre-censorship aimed at the incest market, which most people in F95 Zone are fully into. So this change in focus basically messed up its initial consumerbase. Is there a chance that he will find a new consumerbase? Not really because all the sites where I saw this game posted also had a ton of incest games on them (And those tended to be the most popular downloads). What I think would've been a good solution in a sense is to minimize the story impact of what Patreon demanded and also give us the option of renaming characters. Not to mention they could've added a hidden option of enabling it (Perverted Hotel did a splendid job with this). Patreon does not shift through the code and I don't really understand the harm with giving the players options.
Now regarding the difficulty of making an incest patch. Yes it's most likely difficult, but most patches (As long as the code is consistent.) just need you to change (Like you said) a couple of lines of code. If the code isn't good then yes, it might take more effort, but also no one says that the dev himself cannot create a patch and post it on F95 or somewhere (That would take almost no effort considering the dev most likely knows the code he has written).
With the recent update, i see the game going a good direction. Ill still wait to play it again tho.
Am I the only one (pretty sure I'm not though) who has absolutely no desire what-so-ever to have sex with any of his family members? I don't even know what is attractive to me about incest games, the taboo of it maybe. I love games with m/s stuff in it, but I'm 0% sexually attracted to my mom. It just seems weird that Patreon would ban stuff like this, yet if we were part of the LGBT community or something and incest was considered a sexuality, nobody would have anything against it. If you are so addicted to incest games that you can't play the game otherwise, you should think of getting help.

I think people wants incest in this game so much is because how well it merging into the game's theme.
In this scenario, as the game's topic "Lust and power", it's about the domination fantasy with Lust and Power, and breaking taboo of normal society is a great demonstration of showing insertion of domination. The author even set the game on a "closing space" of post apocalypse background.
Also, the game has the topic of bloodlines which provides the background of family power structure, giving player more obvious stage of domination.
However, the biggest issue I have with current development is more about content. Obviously, developers want to build up the part of power first, that's why recently it's all about combat system. I won't deny looks like they have great plan on lust system, but those content released recently is really hard to keep my interest on it, also, without any character fully corrupted, patron can't be sure how far the fetish would go.
In conclusion, it could be a great game if it ever finished.
