Try googling "what the frick is a py file" and/or "how to use a py file on linux".Can't seem to be able to launch this game on Linux ? There is no .sh executable, only a .exe and a .py
Yeah I tried launchy the py file by doing "python Lust\ Bound.py" in a terminal, but I just get errors about libraries, especially about the line "import future.standard_library", which says it doesn't exist, even though it is in the lib/ directory.Try googling "what the frick is a py file" and/or "how to use a py file on linux".
I use the emulator for Windows "Wine", it works very well, I never had problems running exe files on LinuxCan't seem to be able to launch this game on Linux ? There is no .sh executable, only a .exe and a .py
I will probably end up doing that, since nothing else seems to work. I was just asking because the compressed version from the previous page works, as there is a sh executable provided. I was just wondering if there were any files missing from the uncompressed version from Mega, since there isn't even a py3-linux-x86_64 folder inside the lib one, only py3-windows-x86_64 and python3.9, which isn't the case with the compressed version.I use the emulator for Windows "Wine", it works very well, I never had problems running exe files on Linux
Sorry for my last comment which was snarky, because I always assume people using Linux and asking questions like "how do I run..." have no idea of how Linux works. My bad.Yeah I tried...
No worries, I completely understand, it's usually the case, and I can't say I'm an expert when using Linux.Sorry for my last comment which was snarky, because I always assume people using Linux and asking questions like "how do I run..." have no idea of how Linux works. My bad.
So here's a possible solution on how to run this game on Linux, I haven't tested it though:
- Make sure the game has the python libraries for Linux in its "lib" sub-directory. If it doesn't come with Linux libraries, copying the libraries from another Ren'Py game with a matching version should work.
- Speaking of other games: most Ren'Py games come with a default .sh file, which is identical no matter the game! I've just checked like 4-5 games that have a .sh file, and they're all exactly the same. Therefore you should be able to just copy a .sh file from any Ren'Py game to your game's folder and just rename it to the name of the .py file (just with the extension .sh of course) and make sure it's executable.
See if that works.
weird, it does have sh file for me, no extra tinkering requiredNo worries, I completely understand, it's usually the case, and I can't say I'm an expert when using Linux.
About the solution you mention, that's more or less what I ended up doing, I had to copy-paste the python Libraries for Linux from the "lib" sub-directory from the compressed game ("py3-linux-x86_64"), the LustBound.sh file from the compressed game , and rename the "Lust Bound.py" file to "LustBound.py" in order for it to work with the sh file.
But I guess this means that the cracked game isn't directly compatible with Linux, since some (non-trivial, at least for me - even though it's not a hard fix, it's not really documented anywhere) work needs to be done to make it work.
Reup please.
Hey, I'm the story writer for Lust Bound.same shit happens as in my previous post with daisy while sitting on the edge of the docks during the scene where she exaplains the sign stuff, weird as fuck seeing the game go from giving romance kissy kissy lines to suddenly missing one, for sure dev fucked up some variables right? wrote NOT a bunch of times when he wasnt supposed to? honestly no idea but its weird as fuck.
EDIT: Found another instance of it happening during the scene on the beach with hyuna during the second days freeroam, when she is stepping out of the water MC says something like "wait is that hyuna" and for some reason if you DID do the thing that gets her to tell you her name, she acts suprised and the MC mentions hearing it from a patron, while for some reason again if you DIDNT get the scene where she tells the MC her name, there is no such scene and she doesnt react to him knowning it. I have gone from assuming the dev maybe messed something up, to fully yeah bros got his variables backwards hard.
hey no problem dude, i know what its like on basically every side of this problem, as a writer, dev, and reader. As a reader its vaugely frustrating having to manually force the game with URM to give me the right lines, as a writer it also frustrates me knowing other people might not be experiencing this honestly really great story, and as a dev it frustrates me since this is exactly the kind of problem i have all the time. If i can save anyone else from any of those frustrations then ill just consider it my good deed of the day lol, plus this game seems pretty great aside from that, so why shouldnt i try to help it reach its greatest potential?Hey, I'm the story writer for Lust Bound.
Thanks for bringing these to my attention. I've played the episode to verify and check, and I will pass these errors on so they can hopefully be fixed. Thanks for taking the time to share this. If you find any other inconsistencies like this with future choice/stat checks, please feel free to let me know. I check in on here fairly regularly, and these kinds of notes are invaluable.
Thanks again.

there were a few more cases of that bug, but honestly it was the only problem i ran into, i already finished the game and honestly really liked what i saw as it progressed further and i got past that problem. really probably just have your dev look over points in the dialogue where a character will be referencing the player having seen a scnee, at one point nearly ever other dialogue was off, though i dont think i noticed any problems with the last twins scene, which was the last one i ended up playing. and yeah i have a lot of respect for anyone who can do it as well, and i have done multiple parts of it before, specifically writing side stories and devving but i was mainly speaking on past experience, as i have devved for a few games before, wrote for one, and handled both side stories and devving one time, though that game shall never see the light of day as it was truly very difficult.Thank you for those affirmations. I'm glad, despite the rough edges, you're enjoying the game and story. Honestly, these kinds of assurances mean so much to me. Writing an AVN has been a dream, a passion of mine for a long time. I have none of the technical know-how to make a game, and I'm so grateful I got a chance to be part of a team that lets me bring my strengths (I hope they're strengths anyway) in storytelling while letting others shine with their own skills and talents. But it does mean at times I don't notice things like the errors you pointed out. When you write something, it's sometimes harder to edit or see the mistakes because you know the story so well, your mind autocorrects everything before your conscious mind can register that there's a problem. :'D
I've got a lot of respect for anyone who manages to juggle all parts of the design process, as you seem to be doing. Please do let me know if you ever find anything else like this. For now, I have brought all your notes forward to the dev team, and hopefully, they should be fixed by the next update.
In conclusion, Lust Bound will release this week on Friday.
We also had a meeting as a studio where we talked about what could we import or exclude from our games. You will be notified about all the major or significant changes later trough the month.
