Hi!
You need the Windows version not the Mac version for this to work.
Copy nwjs.app to where Game.exe is and then run nwjs.app.
Check the attached screenshot.
You can play all RPG Maker MV games like this.

Strange, I got it working and completed the game version 0.96.
Can you post a video so I could look into what's happening ? You can use QuickTime to record screen in MacOS.

Instructions for running LE on MacOS 10.15 :-
1. Download LE for Windows (Original or Compressed, I downloaded the compressed one) and extract it.
2. Go to this link

You must be registered to see the links

3. Download nwjs.app for Mac OSX 64-bit and extract it.
4. Now copy the nwjs.app into the LE folder (where Game.exe is present)
5. Right click and Open nwjs.app. MacOS will give a security advisory but there will be an open button.
6. If MacOS says that the app is not compatible. Press the cancel button and then Right click and Open again. This time it will give security advisory with an open button. (If, for some reason, it doesn't work then press the option button on the keyboard and then do right click and open)
7. ???
8. Profit

You need the Windows version.
You don't need to downgrade to MacOS 10.14. RPG Maker MV supports 64-bit.
