Your comment makes me wonder how much more content the game wouldn't have if he had at least one more person devving with him to handle the coding part of the game so he could focus exclusively on making sex scenes.
That's the woe of every indie (solo) dev, especially for games where Porn weights so much more than the rest.
It's difficult to form a dev team, cuz it's personal and niche.
I'm talking about the one used in the pub cellars against the Dranei in the "arena". And your reasoning about him not liking coding would make sense if he hadn't already done it. The system is up and running, he just had to expand the animations and write the dialogue, which from what you said is what he likes to do.
That's the thing, those fights hv interesting ideas, but never fleshed out to be "enjoyable".
You can't simply use the base-frame and hope it'll work for the rest of the game,
You need to add new "abilities", new enemies "attacks" / scenes accordingly.
That's more than just "code the battle once" then "add animations into it", which separately is already a lot of work.
To be clear, I much prefer good gameplay / progression system, than just porn.
Cuz it will improve your engagement and attachment to the game, largely enhance your experience.
Games like Lilith's Throne / Degrees of Lewdity, while hving complex combat (which is very similar to the combat you were referring to), it becomes boring very quick, cuz it's always the same shit.
Pseudo RPG like Lustful Desires, while the combat is very rudimentary, it's interesting thanks to the simplicity while rich in sex encounters and outcomes. TBH I was expecting LfA to hv that kind of combat.
