Also, although it's not your concern nor relevant here since we are pirates,
But they are not "Losing support" cuz they find what's best for their game, in contrast, they weed out so called "supports" that'll negatively impact the development since those are looking for different things.
Remember, Patreon is for "supporting the development of a project", not "Buying products that you want".

Then you should know that this trend is not new, it's been happening since more than a year ago, the straight and lesbian contents were diminishing GREATLY. If you're straight, and you have been a patreon until this update, man, what a waste of money.

I do agree it was distasteful, normally I wouldn't exclude an entire gender for an update (not a sexuality though. I dunno if anyone noticed, but there is a female teacher in one of the updates, so we can guess there will be some straight content IN the academy). The dev never promised a fully bi game, a straight or even a 100% gay game, he just do what he pleases on the updates. Some devs do promise certain quantity of content, but most doesn't.

They could have made mixed content in this game, and once it's over, make a full gay content game, but no, they took a half-half game and they are just making gay content.

There are no rules written on a stone table that dictates a dev should do that. Devs will do whatever they want. Of course, we must deal with the consequences too.

Read again the description in Patreon, and tell me if he's stating that the game will be always 100% bi and equal for both genders (or races. I'm still bitter he didn't include orcs as a race for the MC). But I'll quote him:

He never stated how much content there would be. I'm not going full-karen on the threads of CoC or Tits because the gay content there is minimal. I just moved on and ignored those games. You can do that with this one, now that you know the balance of content.

I'm a new person and I played the game for about an hour, exploring stuff. To me, it seemed like a good half-half so far.

If the game's sending me these signals as a new player that tested the game for a bit, then it should specify it's mostly gay content with some extras MF and FF to give it flavour.

PS: Just because you feel excluded because of your gender doesn't mean everyone else needs to make fun out of you for it. Whoever hurt you, go for them, but if you try to take a nab at me from it, you're gonna make yourself look like a fool for that, cause I don't mind gay content at all, I'm just defending the fact that I feel like it's a 50/50 with about an hour played so I feel like the game deceives people with it's content. I like both, but I lean more towards female. Personal preference. Can you understand that, or is your hate boner too big because "you won"? (You didn't, there's nothing to win or lose here)

He never stated how much content there would be. I'm not going full-karen on the threads of CoC or Tits because the gay content there is minimal. I just moved on and ignored those games. You can do that with this one, now that you know the balance of content.

My point here is, if I was a supporter(I clearly ain't cause I just found the game, but I'll have you know I support all the projects I like the most up to a certain budget I can afford), I would be pissed that this game that started with equal content for all tastes shifted to a only gay content spectrum.

I applaud them if they found their niche, but not only will they lose a big amount of people supporting them because of this sudden shift, but they will earn a well-deserved banther from people who supported them for the content they delivered and then shifted their gears just because. Good for them if that's what they like, but I won't condone you or anyone else half-assing others just because they complain about the shift in the developer's decission in a game THAT IS SUPOSED TO BE HALF HALF.

I do understand your point, and this situation really sucks. I know this, because this happens to us all the time. A game starts off with some reasonable amount of gay content (almost never as much as the straight content), and then the gay content so often gets abandoned or thrown a pity update once a year. It's never a nice situation to be in. LfA is one of the few games where it's actually the straight content that gets abandoned. Of course this makes it "better" for us gay guys, and straight girls who like gay games, but it sucks for the straight players. So I do understand that you're frustrated and unhappy, it's totally reasonable to feel that way.

What a shit update. I may be done with this game, even for free. Followed the game since westfall was added and was a patron for a long while, but the content over the last year is just...bad. I don't mean the gay focus, that's fine, but if you're going to make it gay-only then add some good top and bottom options the each scene. Really tired of my character just getting dominated and especially getting humiliated in most sex scenes, even the ones where I win. Newest update has you cycling through text where your only choice is to continue getting sucker punched and humiliated and eventually pissed on or alt+F4. Really?! Stranglethorn was mostly good, but too many updates have focused on the brothel or the crossever human jock character, and now the hogwarts update where you're a demon-slaying gnoll-hunting undead-smashing hero...who can't stop a human teenager from punching you in the gut and pissing in your mouth.

I don't care that the creator wants to focus on gay content, but focusing solely on his humiliation fetish isn't sexy and it isn't fun

It just breaks my immersion.

But, according to some patrons, we'll be getting means to retaliate from those idiots on the next updates, so I would give it one or two updates a chance.

To build on that, it breaking the immersion isn't the only problem, it's also the fact that it's kind of an hyper specific fetish/scenario, which is a theme with this story expansion as a whole (it caters almost exclusively to mlm pig masochistic subs). And, as someone who really doesn't like the mix of sex and violence due to... lived experience, it feels really disempowering to have to go through a gameplay cycle where you either get bullied/abused or you just have to choose to get yourself out and not interact whith that part of the game.

Which, to be clear, it's what I am doing, I don't like it so I don't play it, and if the creator enjoys that aspect of kink and wants to be the main focus of that part of the game, good for him, there's still a ton of content with stuff I actually enjoy. But it's just to add some perspective on what makes this particular update feel kind of shitty, even for mlm folks like myself.

To be fair, there's some amount of cross pollination in regards to lore between WoW and Hearthstone, and Hearthstone did have a big "academy arc". So this academy does tie in with the broader Warcraft setting.

tbh if it was really tied to hearthstone's scholomance expansion, i wouldn't mind that much. but the fact he's creating a random academy out of nowhere, with not a single lore character in sight, with such weird gameplay and narrowed fetish... it would be soooo easy to just use scholomance in place of this.

i know it's "only" a porn game but i kinda liked the fact that we were dealing with lore characters. that's where the flavor of the game was and now it's just a random porn game with 3D graphics. the recent updates have been a miss for me.

The dev's been asked that for so long now he'd probably will add some more straight content just to appease people that likes using the female mc roles, but I think everyone can tell by the way he messaged that he really doesn't want to, so be prepared to see some but at the same time also be prepared that it may or may not be as 'fleshed' out as the male mc roles whenever (if ever) he decides to make additional straight scenes and especially low expectations if they are solely for the female mc only (in short, doesn't share the same scenes as male mc). Just putting that out there in advance for players that may be excited to see them yet a bit disappointed that it's not as nasty or the dialog isn't well written out in comparison to the male mc role. So, whenever that update may be, I hope no one complains about how and why the dev slacks on the straight content blah blah blah, for it was already written (by yours truly lol) to keep expectations low and be thankful that the dev is still planning to work on this issue more and hope for the best of what he has to offer in terms of straight focused content.
