Would be great if you could take 'donations' via PayPal directly from your site and give a unique code for each donation to access the page where you can play the current version of the game. Basically means one would need to manually pay each time they want to play the current version. To make sure they own the current version is to offer a download function too.
Otherwise, using Discord to link an account would work too. You could technically keep the same way Patreon worked minus the platform fee, and take money in form of 'donations' directly into your PayPal account.

x being amount you want
Play with the code a bit, it will let you change anything what is in the game, charm, relationship status, event status, ...
You can do this for all these html games which disable cheating. Sorry to the develepor but my and your fans fingers are thanking me.
