According to folklore, mischievous elf-like creatures known as nisse make themselves known especially around Christmas time. In the old days, nisse were protectors of a household or farmstead and helped farmers with small chores. They were temperamental though and could cause trouble if angered.

No, it's a standalone, now the main game is abandoned. I think the original creator thinking it's not worth his time, so he decided to abandon the game. He also got another game called Lesson in Loyalty, but this one is taken over by his partner or a team. If you look at the Patreon update the art style changed a bit and thus there's a change in the character look. The one that took over the project said something about wanting to continue Last of Pain too, but I think their priority is Lesson in Loyalty, World of Secrets and Rock the Rim.
