I get thats how it started but a developer has every right to change their minds, they did so, informed their paying customers and told them how to avoid it if they didn't wish to see it. Dude - at 46 - I have seen my share of shit as well. I have no issues with it and honestly don't know what people are talking about as I have not seen the latest version yet (I am still playing it - started last night). It was more them said "can you skip it" and I was replying that you can skip everything in this game.
