That's the plot. There have been a lot of glitches and error codes showing on screen during the game (deliberate ones, not RenPy errors). This indicates the MC is in a simulation or something. Thats why time is repeating, thats why he can freeze time, and that is why he can duplicate himself. None of it is actually real.
There is lore. 1. He discovered he can clone himself. 2. When he clones himself it someone sets off a woman's sex drive. They act normally when there is only one of him but when there are two they can't control themselves. 3. The simulation he is stuck in is now glitching badly so these new powers might be a complete mistake. 4. He may have finally escaped the timeloop. 5. The sex shop seems to be run by the mafia. 6. He finally realizes he is wasting his time and wants to better himself
