Sorry, to clarify, whether or not S3 was planned, and yeah, second half of S2 went off the rails, all i meant was that with the endlessly rebooting, there were no consequences.I might be wrong - I'm not an insider nor a patron - but frankly speaking I don't think that S3 was originally planned.
S2 infamous finale looks more like the result of a lack of ideas of the previous writer. He didn't know how to justify the time loops nor how to conclude the story, so he just said oh well... nothing was real THE END.
Then he swiped his badge and left the office
Then patrons hated that finale, so the new writer was called to fix it.

Even if my speculation were wrong, and S3 was instead planned since the beginning, one thing is certain: the second half of S2 was not at all needed to the new writer to do his good job of telling a more sensible story. They could have just called him to write the second part of S2 (when it was clear that the previous writer was out of ideas about how to wrap up the story) and he would have spared us all the "out of the rails" of S2.
Now there are, and the MC is aware that there will continue to be, so his efforts are now put to mitigating and undoing his fuck ups from S1/S2, and develop more meaningful relationships with the various LI.
And if this is the (moronic) hero's journey, there needs to be challenges to overcome. Those challenges were defined in the previous seasons, and that is all i meant by S2 was needed.

It's difficult at this point to get excited about any of them. Nicole was always the one I looked forward to before but it's all just gotten boring. I'll just hold out hope for the Megan/Jess, Megan/Caroline or Jess/Caroline scenes and if they don't get made at least the other games will get fired back up!

That's what happens when they go from working on 4 VNs to just 1 at a time. Hopefully Nora gets updated like this when it gets back to the front of the line.
Sorry you feel the game has gotten boring for you. As always, I check feedback here and do my best to take on board every player's opinion and thoughts. Even if I can't action everyone's vision or hopes for the game, knowing what I am doing well or not so well is a huge boon for me in improving going forward. So if you have any specific feedback on what you are not enjoying or what is making the game feel boring to you, I'd encourage you to share it. I will read and keep it in mind as I do all feedback and critiques.
