The only way I could see to fix the story after the literal deus ex machina is to lean into the deus ex machina. In season 3 have the Megan AI construct become fully aware, invent time travel, go back and stop the extinction event, download itself/herself? into real Megan's brain via a neuralink type thing, seduce MC and screw their brains out. Silly I know, but they've already jumped the shark.

What? I don't think the ending there fits any of those - whether the series or the "end of" movie. Maybe the re-make series does that but I could not finish that garbage
That still doesn't change the endless forced sex grind...This game is really good if you just use save editor to add $ to skip the grind
I can't even comprehend what kind of person wants more of this after the ending ruined it.
I am sure there is a market for people that just want sex scenes without any meaningful narrative context (normal porn shows this to be true), but why would a person like that have enjoyed Season 1 and the first half of season 2 enough to have become a patreon in the first place?

I really hope that in season 3 they make it so that they continue the simulation at like the middle of where season 2 was when everything started to fall apart and have it where MC doesn't remember what happened with all of the simulation BS stuff so he still believes he is living a real life instead of knowing he is in a simulation. That sh*t never sit well with me. And i also do not like how they keep releasing these fantasy DLC's where it isn't really connected to the main story instead of actually continuing the main story. Weird concept, i know...

at the very end . there is a dlc button right before the option that finishes the game .
That wouldn't be enough for me. The ending has retroactively ruined the earlier parts of the game for me. Even if the main character doesn't know, I know. It destroys any interest I have in the characters and any sense of immersion in the world itself.
Edit: At this point the only thing that would cause me to be interested in a season 3 is if they actually put the main character back into the real world and his real family members were around as love interests. Whether through time travel, people being frozen in suspended animation, or whatever other plot device.

I think those scenes were paid by a fan, maybe he pays again or they consider continuing it for the popularity, I'd be surprised.
But they did leave that on a cliffhanger as well.
Forgot the Monster scene with both girls.

To this very day still sad that this game changed it's name from Echoes of Lust to Lust Theory.
Not for nothing. The game has all the appeal elements of a hot VN, excellent renders and animations of gorgeous DAZ models, marginal story line but no so bad. Yes, the ending sucked, but the ending was also incomplete. Open ended enough that even the whole ending could have been a dream or whatever, and everything in his world is real after all. As for all of the deep writing critiques I'm reading here....geez. Why don't one of you critics cite the VN on this or any other site bragging Pulitzer quality writing so that we can understand the depth of your intense literary knowledge better? I'll be interested in those examples.
