So, I'm not sure if you know that Embercat was fired before this final update, but he was. So, it's entirely possible that these story ideas were his, and they were put together by another person, which has ended up with the rushed endings we have here. Never mind the fact that I am pretty much 99% certain that Sophie's ending got completely rewritten, and it's entirely possible that none of these endings come from Embercat's original ideas.
At this point I don't know what I dislike more, the clusterfuck of a fuckfest ending that is way too fucking long from S2, but has some goodbye stories that are genuinely well written, or the fantastic writing from S3 that ended with endings that were (mostly) good ideas, but terribly executed, half of these endings don't even have 100 renders.
Though I have not played the endings, I can say 100% none of them are mine. If you scroll back to my original firing message from Lancelot, there is even a section in his message, which is posted here on F95, where, AFTER firing me, he says I can hand over the ending work I had done if I wanted. I very nearly did this, along with a lot of script I had ready to go for the endings. However, I was convinced by my friends to listen to the old adage, 'never work for free,' and that it was unreasonable for an employer to fire you for your 'bad story' and then, in the same message, ask if you'd be willing to give over anything else I had. For this reason, despite wanting to see the game finished well for the fans' sake and personal pride, I chose not to hand over anything else.
Now that the game is fully released, and since someone else here already asked what my intended endings were, this is the short version of what I had planned to give an idea of how I would have done things.
SOLO ENDINGS - MC returns to Thursday armed with the knowledge of the time loops to pursue his favored main girl.
MC is returned to Thursday (As Alice's attempt to make right all Carol did to him). Armed with the knowledge of the time loops and his own personal growth, he is now able to pursue anyone he wants, BUT without having to worry about letting down the other girls with whom he had fooled around during the loops.
I wrote Thursday & Friday in such a way that each LI's route has some overlapping elements that remained true for all paths, but gave focus to the LI MC was pursuing and then pushed into a longer-term wrap-up and after-story, with each path having two sex scenes, not very long, but I was never gonna be foolish enough to wrap up anyone's path without some celebratory sex thrown in. (Alice would have had her own path this way and I would have pushed for each ending to feel each equal and valid, not favoring any LI over any other).
SUMMARY OF MEGAN'S ENDING AS AN EXAMPLE - (Parts in italics are true on multiple routes)
MC uses all he's learned about Megan's feelings and fears, as well as how she used to rely on him, to win her heart. When he sees Megan get out of the shower on Thursday morning, he makes bold jokes about how she's left him with only cold water and flirts with her with his new confidence, which surprises and intrigues Megan.
In college that morning, when MC meets Ellie (technically for the first time) he doesn't play up to her cosplay enthusiasm and so doesn't start a proper friendship with her. BUT he mentions Amy's party and offers to introduce her to Amy to ensure she isn't left feeling like a loner in a new college.
Later, in college, MC talks to Taylor and buys his guitar off him (just as he did in S3) and gets it home before Megan returns with the dildo bought from Sophie's store. Similar to the main Megan path of LT3, MC ensures Megan catches him playing the guitar, and reinforces the wish to spend more time with her, help her with her music, and build up her confidence in her own skill. Without the Zoe threesome clouding the issue, Megan's feelings for MC deepen quickly as the feelings she had when they were younger resurface.
She invents a game with tequila: she has to take a shot every time MC finishes a tune flawlessly, while MC must drink every time he fails. This gives her enough liquid courage to fool around with MC in her room, leading to the first small nsfw scene (not full sex).
On Friday, Megan has to consider the repercussions of making a move on MC, and they at first sidestep the issue. However, MC continues to impress her all day. He uses his knowledge of the school's hidden cameras to expose Big Boy and free Nicole, while protecting the other students from his voyeurism. This makes him an immediate campus hero, and everyone wants to talk to him/make a move on him at Amy's party.
This makes Megan a little jealous and also leads her to realize that if she doesn't get over her issues regarding dating her 'housemate,' someone else is gonna snatch him up. (Incidentally, MC directing Ellie to Amy means Ellie is making friends and not feeling so alone.)
MC further ratchets up points with Megan by ensuring he is not the center of attention at Amy's party. Even though everyone wants to talk to him and know him better, he brings music into the conversation and mentions how great a guitarist Megan is. Megan is bashful, but MC convinces her to play something for the crowd at the party.
After already having her confidence built up by MC since Thursday, Megan reluctantly plays for the crowd, and they love her performance.
MC takes Megan aside to tell her how good she was, but all Megan wants to do is ditch the party and get MC home into her bed.
A true sex scene happens, with Megan throwing away her last hangups as MC just gives her the confidence she needs to be her best self.
After that, the story accelerates to provide an overview of the following months. We get short snippets of sex scenes as Megan and MC fuck like rabbits as often as possible while trying to keep things hidden from Elizabeth and Jessica. Zoe, of course, figures something is up, but keeps the secret as she wouldn't do Megan or MC dirty like that. Zoe starts hanging out with Amy and Ellie more, and is even seen fooling around with Ellie at a party, suggesting she is moving on (In some LI solo routes, Ellie makes out with Amy instead based on the path. Mc also grows and ensures Jeff is exposed for stealing Jessica's panties, thus helping Sophie, Jessica, and Elizabeth, though this time he's covert and doesn't try to get praise for this.
Meanwhile, MC and Megan continue to practice music together and, through MC's coaxing, Megan begins to perform at open mic events, with him eventually joining as her backup guitarist.
About a year in, they catch the eye of a record label and sign their first deal. The final scene is them packing a car to leave for their new life in the city. There's a tender goodbye with Jessica, Elizabeth, and Zoe. Jessica is starting to make a name for herself. Seeing Megan and MC's success and a good pep-talk from MC convinces her not to let one bad audition ruin her ambition. There is a suggestion that MC and Megan's success might even give Jessica future contacts that will boost her visibility.
After Jessica and Elizabeth jokingly ask if Megan will be okay living alone with someone as annoying as MC, Megan makes a sly joke as she assures them she'll manage, and they get in the car. They drive away to their new life and career, with MC noting that making it big will make it harder to keep their relationship a secret. Megan knows they'll make it work and takes the opportunity to blow him as he's driving, enjoying the fact that in their new apartment, they'll never need to worry about sneaking around. They drive into the sunset - curtains.
This then becomes the bedrock for each subsequent ending I planned: we see MC using everything he knows to build a perfect setup and relationship with his chosen LI, while also ensuring that all the other problems the other girls have are sorted. Using minor scenes that appear on multiple paths would allow more space for NSFW scenes without creating too much extra render work.
The, return to Thursday Solo Endings were meant to give MC solo endings with each girl based in all he had learned and done over the seasons, particularly his paths in season 3, and was also going to include a Megan Zoe / Jessica Chloe / and 'Household group' ending.
Then IF MC chose to reject Alice's offer to go back to Thursday, opting instead to have Carol stop mucking about with time, then he would have been put onto a harem path I had planned. Along that path, Carol layers reality so that all of MC's best days on Sunday are 'true'. It's part of her reality manipulations, a bit like going through game logs and cheat-clicking checkboxes for events, even though they can't all have logically happened.
PLANNED HAREM PATH
In this path, all the LIs wake on Monday remembering MC saving them from their problems / solving their relationships. Ellie is freed from jail as Carol uses her power to falsify data on her swab test after her arrest, leading the police to conclude Ellie had her drink spiked at the party on Friday, which caused her to act irrationally and out of character.
MC gathers the girls together and explains the truth about Carol and what he experienced. They are all dubious, but they can't deny that their memories and logic issues created by Carol's meddling don't make sense and seem to prove MC's not crazy. Carol then appears and further backs up MC's claims.
I was aiming for a more realistic harem ending here. None of the girls instantly thinks, 'Eh, we all love him, let's just share!' (Except Sophie because... Sophie.) However, they are all still grateful for what MC has done for them all, and appreciate and feel bad for how much he suffered as a result of being stranded in the time loops for so long.
The harem then becomes a drip feed kind of story, where the girls can't put away their feelings for MC and gradually, in their own time and way, accept they want to be with him and find a way to make sharing work. This is easier for the more open-minded girls already used to sharing or threesomes, but takes longer for other characters - Nicole, for example.
Carol decides to stick around, using her powers to make up for the trouble she caused MC. She uses her power to effectively let MC travel through time, repeating days at will, and ensuring the girls retain their memories with him even on redos. In this way, he can have a big harem of girls and devote his time to each without anyone feeling left out. Again, this would have had several sex scenes encompassing different groups of the cast, but my aim would have been to create a harem ending that felt at least somewhat real and emotionally developed.
