Although StanG content is pretty hot but I kinda miss Zoroj. What happened to the guy? I'm so out-dated.
We never get an Official Statement of why ZoroJ left the project. (TBH it doesn't matter anymore at this point.)

But if you compare the working progress to the new artists StanG and Narram,
It's pretty clear that ZoroJ didn't have a good synergy to work on the project for whatever reason. And they decided that it's better for them to part ways.
No idea what's happening to him these days, IIRC he's still doing his own things.

It sucks for ZoroJ's Fans, but this happens pretty common among indie creators.

ZoroJ was never hired by Hyao, Hyao commissioned him they didn't have a contract or obligation. (Asked Hyao themself)
So in theory it's Hyao fault for not offering a contract or regular payments big enough for him to focus LD over his own Patreon

I never knew that. Hyao missed out. ZoroJ art is one of the best. Which was one of the reasons I started drawing.

This is exactly the point I suggest for every indie Dev:
Never Do commission arts, It never works out.
If you wish to add arts, either learn to draw yourself, or finding artists to be your project partner.

(Unless you have unlimited money to throw around, which is impractical for 99% of indie dev)
In fact, it will NOT work even if you hv infinite money:
Game development requires Commitment, Creativity and Passion. If the sole motivation is "Money", it will eventually fail at some point.
Artist commission only works for one and done deal. Not long term projects.

But I guess the mystery is solved and it's stupidly simple:
The working relationship between Hyao and ZoroJ didn't work for Lustful Desires.

Unfortunately it happens alot in the game dev within visual novel stuff, that artist that start with the project being invested but over time they grew tired and dissinterested, its pretty noticable within the art of LD, especialy the longer the stuff goes on, yes he did alot of sprites, but over time you clearly start seeing the decline in terms of amount of CGs, since artist were not not involved with project himself, and Hyao clearly need someone who not only likes the game but also the one that would be interest going thu the game and find the moments that can be illustrated
As of right now from what Stan said he often find those moments himself and then approach Hyao about doing them ( or doing them as fanart and offering Hyao to put them in the game if he see them fit ), and that is beside the new moments that based on the ideas that comes up from new artist artwork ( example is Celeb drunk scene that was made from the art of Celeb that he did and later on scene was created for it )
Also same thing with more recent stuff like Orc Wrestling event, as he stated originaly there was no plansto have any CGs in it, but Stan uproached Virile about making CG from Maul for that event ( since it was new character and he find him funny ), which in turn led to another 3 CGs
Hyao need people that gonna be invested in the project and will help with working on it, and not a contructed worker that doesnt involve themself with it till they get asked,
Did ZoroJ art was good? Yes
Does he missed out on working with him? Not realy since he wasnt that invested in it, as much as Hyao need for artist to be investe ( and its not a flaw of the artist but Hyao himself, and thats why he need someone who can take a step and help him with it )

It's not anyone's "Fault",
game creation / development simply could Not work bases on "Commissions"/ "Contracts", it's a group effort that requires everyone's commitment, unless you solo (do all works by yourself).
The picked up pacing after Narram & (especially) StanG's involvement just prove that

Originaly I started playing the game due to art style, but the more I played I actualy start falling for the characters themself and the story and extremly good discription of hot scenes and the amount of them, and how they written that they dont feel like a basic fan fiction, like recent BW update was incredibly good and actualy make me like him alot even tho I was not realy interested in him and lazily read big part of his story at the begining, but new scenes with Everett and Alden were extremly hot and have a realy good visuals with them, and spiced up with some interesting dramatic moments that follow the BW decent to what he become now, Brimscorch did amazing job with this update, despite previous ones felt like it was dragin out, but looking back at it after yesturdays update it doesnt feel like it anymore

The sprite is better than the cg.
It is (IMO). But there are a lot more work done on the CG.
In fact I'm pretty sure ZoroJ Inspired StanG, and many other artists.
So it's really a shame that ZoroJ does not wish to commit on this amazing project.
I honestly didn't expect ZoroJ & Hyao had such mercenary working relationship.
