Black Wolf is written by Brimscorch not by Hyao himself, so its all depend on Brim on how it will conclude, and right now Brim writes stuff for crocs and seems like he has issues with making up a good conclusion for the BW story

And that´s the biggest problem with this game - too many writers, that write stories like old AO3 fanfic with thousands of pages, without idea how will the story end... just write idea on top of old idea and so on...

Hyao is essentially the director on this so it doesn't matter much that Brimscorch specifically is the writer for BW stuff, even more so considering that the BW story is entwined with the main story so I wouldn't be surprised if it's being held up due to the current glacial pace of main story progression.

Man this rly gives me Déjà vu of Only I Have Skills and Flexible Survival, stretching contents thin but going nowhere. The former is already dead, while the "Hub" style kinda worked on the latter, it's in limbo also.
You could literally put 80% named characters on your list
It seems like Hyao ain't really having a project plan, just do whatever interested him at the moment.
It's fair for a hobby project where you'r just in for the fun of it, but rather bad otherwise.
TBH I don't really mind if he has to abandon some at this point, just stick to a set path, moving towards a satisfying closure, one at a time before onto the next.
Thats the problem that started from the early days of the game that is currently impossible to fix beside complitely gut out content that was abandoned by previous writers and even if you gut it out people gonna cry about it being deleted, so the only option to pick it up himself when mood arises
It doesnt matter if he is director of the project when person who working on a specific part of the project not presenting what to add, Hyao could pick it up himself and finish it but Brim might have different idea of how it would end, that why the only option is to give it a time for him to came up with what satisfy Brim rather then forcing him to give him just something that would be rushed and unsatisfactory just to close that part of the story off and not bother about it, if you want to enjoy LD you better learn to treat it as a sandbox that get updated with different content overtime rather then as linear story that updates its stories and quests one after another, otherwise you will be always unhappy cuz it would take long time in between updates for content that you particularly selected for yourself to enjoy
The last time people were encouraged to "treat a game as a sandbox" to not be 'unhappy' with it was Flexible Survival - and that ended with it basically being placed behind a Patreon paywall for all major content out of the blue and now we're getting dripfed scraps (of content literally nobody cares about) once every 2 - 3 months when updates used to release consistently every month and we got massive update logs each time. And this is in spite of the fact they've claimed to have a larger team than ever now.
Defending devs' shitty practices where they ignore the content people are actually supporting them for in favor of whatever random thing has taken over their brain until they get bored of even that then dropping it whilst still ignoring the OG stuff people followed them for is the exact reason so many projects either end up in limbo, become walking corpses, or just die outright.
What are you even talking about? 2-3 month update? Are you drunk? Game updates every single month ( sometimes with delayes 1 week at max ). and the whole paywall point is complitely bull crap considering that for 1$ you getting full update the only thing that you are not getting is the gallery, sorry if you cant afford to spend 1$ once in a while to get the most recent update, yes the project is bloated with stuff and Hyao is at fault for adding alot of stuff that shouldnt have been added or invite writers that dip out and not continuing working on what they started, if you dont like all the new stuff and only following for the older stuff that was abandoned and not getting updates then better find something esle, cuz doubt that Hyao would change his mind about updating the game based on what he is in the mood for
I was talking about Flexible Survival, but I'm not especially surprised you don't seem to be able to understand what people are saying to you - given you've been going off on tangents and failing to comprehend that yes, constantly starting and dropping plotlines without developing them is a bad trait regardless of how much of a "sandbox" your game is. A sandbox that is half empty is the worst of both worlds.
This game doesn't focus much on the plot to begin with, this is an adventure of solving problems and sleeping with anything that moves.
The problem isn't focusing on the plot - what people are complaining about is that the content people actually care about is completely shafted and sidelined because whenever Hyao gets some random idea that only he or Brim care about, then he has to put it into the game. Even when it comes at the active detriment of all other content because it completely sucks away their writing focus from everything else.
I'd be entirely fine with them expanding the world and adding new shit to fuck/be fucked by if they also remembered to add more scenes of fucking/being fucked by the actual characters they've already added. But they don't do that, and instead laser-focus on "new thing" until they get bored of "new thing" and then go do something else until they get bored of that too.
