New art of that game still sucks and they replaced the cgs recently with the new art and it just looks terrible. Really miss cursemarks art

Don't mind me because I'm a lot to handle Like I've said because ToS just not my style (Only the art style), despite the fact that the game is fantastic.

It's just funny because I hate everything else about the game, except the art!

Orveia. I have tried and still don't have a favorite character. so I'm waiting for the next update. Maybe I'll find something I enjoy.

Pretty much same. At least in the latest update we were able to have a 3-way with the bear/human couple we were able to spy on previously.

Outland Wanderer. Never heard before. So I search on itch to find out there were only two pics example and with the same reason with Orveia. If you find any Bara in those, please let me know it will make my day.

It's still VERY new. It's similar to ToS with CG-style scenes, but it only has one atm (losing to a slime enemy; funny how both ToS and OW have the first scene be the exact same...).

I don't even know despite having thrown money at that game for a month but man, that game has even punier updates and for the price, it was so not worth. It's got some solid scenes (tiger monster, hobgoblin, wererat, a few others), but I just don't care to find out what's going on.

Now talking about it, I kinda see why Hyao keeps digging more rabbit holes(?)

• He wanna expand the universe so it's more sandbox-able, like Flexible Survival
• But He lacks the manpower to filling the holes, and he's not good at content management
• Having good arts also eat up a lot of development resources (Which FS doesn't need to worry about)

The more to think about it, the more difficult this game's development seems without partner(S)
Especially it seems Hyao is still struggling to sort it out.

I mean, his issue is more that any new content is relatively on him to do. FS has a group of writers (and artists) contributing. Sure, there's a few guest writers for LD, but Hyao still has to devote time to code that in and no one else, while in FS, I believe whoever writes the stuff can just code in whatever. Kinda puts a lot more into perspective, and honestly it's shocking he can even manage a monthly update (Caro, lone creator of ToS, usually takes months per update as a result).

But the crafting system is ..... well we are lucky there're in-game cheats.
@Polarthief mentioned other games charge these kind of cheats for money, another proof Hyao is not milking his audience.

ToS is a prime example, having a higher tier for the cheat code (and it doesn't even let you get materials to quickly finish quests, you still have to grind those!!!) that allows you to play the game, because grinding for levels is unbearably slow and the only way to even have a chance at some of the later bosses. ToS is one of the most horribly unbalanced games I've ever played, having to cheat to max level and then even having to save/rewind scum even then. There's no reason for it to be so difficult, other than, well, getting your consumers to pay more, of course...

Like I said, LD was able to achieve a pretty good balance between all of them, that's what makes it good. You don't need to excel to make a good game. Except it does hv good arts - that's why people are more dissatisfied when the quality dropped.

Absolutely and I was never trying to convince people otherwise, just that bitching on F95 does nothing but make people look entitled. I'd love higher-quality stuff, but I don't care enough to bother Hyao about it. I paid a buck for the month and I don't have any regret on that dollar. I mean ffs, it's a *DOLLAR*, while many in here get the update for free and still bitch. Bitching about free content just kinda blows my mind (unless it's Lilith's Throne, then it's absolutely justified ).

When I said "similar to LD", I meant text-based sandboxies with good arts, not "Play exactly like LD".

Oh guys the biggest flaw of adastra and its clone far beyond the world is that it is just a vn not a game.

Yeah, a linear, kinetic, visual novel, as in a book with visuals, which is what the original term was made for. It's just not my thing and why I don't know anything more than a handful of characters as I held CTRL to skip the entire game.

Not hanging around here for the last few months so idk what's going on. But can anyone tell me why ZoroJ didn't draw LD character's sprites anymore? I miss his art, Naram's is fine ig, but it didn't give me as much impact as ZoroJ's.

ZoroJ is having personal issues and is generally just less active, I think? He deleted his social media a while ago, his Patreon updates have become more infrequent, and it doesn't help that he caught Covid a while ago. But yeah, personal issues are the problem. There doesn't seem to have been any falling out between ZoroJ and Hyao.

The reality is whatever the issue, ZoroJ won't return - at least for the time being.
People should made peace with alternatives if they wish to see continuation.

The problem is not using different artist, it's Narram didn't handle it proper.
Just go to E621 browse randomly, how many bizarre drawings you'll see as mood killer as Narram's recently addition?

And That's why you don't dig too many rabbit holes in your game. So that when this kind of thing happens, you don't need to worry about keeping arts' consistency.

nah. it's not that bad. They are conversing like friends. to friends. they were friends. maybe. The thing is they don't care about their game is getting worse, that's why I said that they talking nonsense, sometimes about their life. So I'm out. I don't wanna be an instant friend on the internet and share about my life for no reason. that is not why I'm here or there. but it's just only my opinion. If someone there just wants to make a friend or just wants someone to talk to. it's their life. let's go. I don't care. it's not my life. my friend has depression too, so I know how to handle it. I wouldn't let them do it if they were my friend.

"You can absolutely be constructive with feedback, but don't be an asshole or it can kill peoples' eagerness to work on projects like this."
^ Which is what I literally said just days ago. He's also asking for people to stop comparing the two artists, and also mentioned that ZoroJ wasn't replaced, simply that he's busy with his own life. He also calls to people that they should stop (monetarily) supporting him if they think his "best isn't good enough for them".

I'm only sharing this because I don't want people to break Hyao down and cause him to just say fuck the whole thing. I'd rather have what people consider "the game has gone bad" to no game at all. If you guys didn't care about the game at all, you wouldn't be acting like this in the first place, you'd just move on to stuff you do care about.

The takeaway here is that Hyao has clearly heard a lot about this update and that's a good thing. Whether this affects future updates or not is what we shall see, but again, just don't be an asshole to the guy or Narram, because that's not how you get what you want (unless you want the game to be abandoned, then I guess keep doing that).

• I agree there are better ways to say things ("constructively" or not, as it can be a very subjective term).
  • And I did use some strong words towards Narram's works which could be phrased better
• Nobody wants to hear negativity / denial. But again, "It's the internet, random people say random things. " You need to deal with it. People are upset for a reason.
• "Free" Doesn't make you immune to criticise. Using it as an argument point is really laughable
  • Like all of your posts can be summarised into 2 points,
    • it's non-constructive
    • It's free, so stop talking about it
  • and you just keeping repeating them, again, again and again
• Hyao can also handle the matters better, like:
  • Be upfront what's difficulty he's facing;
  • Don't make statement that invites further blasting
• I though Narram is a professional artist, if he's still fairly new and need additional care, Hyao should also mention it
• People get upset all the time, like many are still can't get past Extracurricular Activities' artist changing (Man the New MC is really "Not Service-able"), but that doesn't hinder it's development

Saying stuff like "Hyao is cheap for hiring another artist over ZoroJ", which is not only blatantly false on two fronts, it's just rude, or saying how "Narram's art is shit", is not in any way constructive or useful.

Asking what's going on with ZoroJ or pointing out how some things are incorrect (not "shit") with the art (e.g., the boar having a bat nose) is constructive.

There's a difference between needing a safe space because you're a precious snowflake and people blasting you (non-constructively) for your project when it's literally free to play.

The post didn't explicitly state the quality of Narram's art, just that there were comparisons to ZoroJ and asking if ZoroJ's gone for good. From the sounds of it, very little was constructive and a lot was demands for ZoroJ and/or saying Narram's art is bad ("X is bad" != constructive).
