I know this Zoroj conversation can get very tiring but I think at this point what Hyao's 2 main things he needs to do is pay Zoroj do the CG's of whatever Hyao needs left of the Orc arc and retire him as the main artist. It's been about 11 months since we got any new content and its clear he just doesn't enjoy making art for LD anymore. I think Narram as the main artist is fine and I am insanely impressed in how much he has improved in the past year alone. The main 2 issues is that he can not draw humans well and we will get a lot more of furry island for quite a while.

I think as a replacement Hyao needs to hire a human artist who not only knows how to draw buff men but also enjoy drawing women. Because it's clear that Zoroj and Narram do not like to draw women and we still do not have art of the female bandit lol.

I honestly would have not cared as much about this if it wasn't for Hyao leaving us in such a big cliff hanger with the Orc War arc that I would at this point just let Hyao write and program the whole thing and write WIP for the cgs. And Zoroj's favorite thing to draw is orcs so if he still hasn't drawn the cgs yet that is saying something.

Among all the things Hyao could do, "Women arts" is the last thing one could come up with lol. Why even bother??? No one cares female bandits have no art before, and no one will care after.

There's only one thing Hyao needs to do: Progressing the game, create substantial contents that makes LD as a game instead of fillers. Arts will come along if things moving forward.

Also, there's totally no need to Bring up ZoroJ to this "what Hyao should do" topic as long as we don't know what happened. He's a thing of past and Narram doing just fine.

Although Arts do bring LD above your average porn game, it's not the thing makes LD. If you just want art, go buy artist monthly art packs or do commissions.

My wild guess is ZoroJ initially was a "Partner" rather than a "Commission artist" for this project.
But then he had a change of heart / not happy with how LD goes / IRL demands, so he left the project - this happens all the time.

If it's just about "don't have money to pay commissions", they can totally reduce ZoroJ's commission amount, than letting ZoroJ leave completely.

I don't know how LD does financially, But I bet it does not make a lot of money. It's subscription is the cheapest in the industry, and despite people complaining the lack of progress, no one accuse Hyao scam people (at least not yet). Even if Hyao does not need the income to support his life, making games cost money.

It could also be that Zoroj wasn't meeting deadlines and making art fast enough for the VN, same thing happened with extracurricular activities. Cursedmarked is not the fastest artist so it put a strain on both him and dyne since art was being made slower than what Dyne wanted which affected their friendship and partnership. Even with his own patreon, Zoroj does take time to make art and seems to be having burnouts and mental exhaustion, it is possible LD was so much demanding for him so he left.

Sad to say I agree but yeah it's highly plausible that was the case, I will probably stop playing if he doesn't come back though since I can't imagine Gunnar/Scar/Tank drawn any other way and the story is being stalled to the point I'm just skipping all dialog to be caught up every update now. (Since I'm actually a patron of ZoroJ anyway)

Wouldn't it be better to find some other artist similar to Zoroj? Narram is alright but his art seems to need practice. Also, I heard before that Hyao was an artist or dabbled in it as well?

the only one i can think of is darkgem interms of caliber. He as other artists working on the game like Burb who does the item sprites and Gavel who does the backgroud. Again narram isnt bad but i do feel he doesnt hold much of a candle compared to zoroj

IMO the reason they don't talk about it, is cuz it might make someone look bad / negatively affect their image. Hyao seems good at networking, so basically PR demands.
It kinda feels weird that LD just like a prestige grandpa that gets left behind and try desperately to catch up, but not on the right points.
When you think about it, LD doesn't really have any plots that deepen in, basically all stuff are just finished the "introduction phase".

Actually Dsharp_K has a pretty good style that would fit LD very well his orcs are pretty hot!

LD takes a lot of inspirations from games like Tainted Space which has a lot of branching paths and is very open ended. The problem with that is that you can add so much to it and can become overwhelming, since the scale keeps getting bigger and bigger the more you add which means it can be milked for money and would never see an end. That is the reason why I worry when there hasn't been much update to the main story in a while and all we have gotten are minor side story updates and holiday events.

In LD's current state you can say it's more like "Flexible Survival", TiTs has proper closure for each planet - sure there might be bits added in later here and there, but it's not keepin' digging shallow rabbit holes which goes nowhere like LD does.

While in "Flexible Survival", you just wander around for fragmentation that's short and often has no follow-ups. IMO that's one reason FS is less popular - you just go in, get the fap, and go out; no long term engagements.
And in this sense, LD has much less stuff going on, don't have as many kinks as FS, and most its porn is very mild.

...And that's where LD's arts set it apart and above for some...previously.

Honestly I haven't seen any artists that can do foreskins/feet as well as Zoroj, only other that really comes to mind is Fumio but pretty sure he can't speak English and the ahegao faces do put me off a bit

That's true but they normally get more expressions and I don't think they have since the start of the game, and let's be honest, the story isn't really worth sticking around for either, Lust Odyssey is more my jam now since it has a lot of kinks that LD has left behind

That new furry/human character is hella ugly to me. Also, the situation with all the most worked storys being in cliff hanger is very dissapointing. Hyao is one of those artist who have a tons of ideas but never focus in one.

Agreed, like I just said the arts were the reason LD stood out.
And that actually makes no difference to me as I'm not backing any of them, nor rly spendin' a lot of time on them.
I'm just hopping around, only jump in for certain updates when I see something I like. One reason this site is a perfect fit for me.

I tried getting Grushk lust incense event but I can only give him incense burner but no incense even though I made it and research it, anyone know why I can't give it to him? My theory is that he doesn't like my mc enough or do I need hearts for him if possible.

Iirc you need to give him the focus incense first then the next time you give a gift you can see the lust incense as one of the options.
