Game isn’t abandoned. They had some personal stuff happen. They paused payments I believe for this or last month (could be wrong). They are planning for a release hopefully in June

That is the problem, some dont know this and get impatient ( some i can understand, some not ) For a good game i can wait ( and i know some dev which need more month for a update but their game is so good so i can wait ) and i know some other games i can play not only this, so no problem.
