Blackmail, when done correctly is built up with small steps increasing the blackmailers hold over the MC. In hindsight it can make more sense to have dealt with the original issue in some cases.

The blackmail here is done with more force and pressure but the concept is similar, to go from train Panic and police, to video evidence and serious consequences, to showing up not being able to force your way back out of the apartment with three antagonists.

The blackmail here is done fairly well, it definitely isn't for those anti Blackmail folks but those people should skip the blackmail tag especially when the dev says its a kinetic novel and no choices in the very beginning.

I don't think i ever saw a blackmail done well in a porn game tbh.
If someone blackmails you into increasingly more insane shit gradually then there is no point to comply, its not the same as someone asking you for something small.
Like imagine you did something bad but not too bad, and someone blackmail you into doing something around equal, ok that makes sense, but in porn games its always something unreasonable that just escalates because otherwise what the point, so MC comes of as an idiot because anyone rl would just realize that its actually less harm to you to just report them then just adding to the blackmail?
The worst offenders is a game like Manila Shaw for example, your boss blackmails you because you have relationship with your coworker and his first demand is to fuck him in a hotel, he is your boss, your coworker...
Its so stupid, the pinnacle of stupid.
Btw, if you ignore him in that game he just whines a little bit and moves on, because he knows he has no levarage actually, game is junky but atleast its fair.
Kinetic blackmail imo is lame, renders are nice sure and good luck to the dev but i prefer to have a choice in those kind of games.

Blackmail stories are always a little bizarre to me because it's like "Sure would be a shame if people found out you did this one thing. You'd better do these 50 other things I'm also going to blackmail you about or I'll tell".

Yes, that would be the logical thing, but some people panic, and do not understand what their real options are. There are documented cases of women being blackmailed into creating porn by their persecutor, going farther and farther until it ended in tragedy. If you want to expand the topic a bit, people have been talked into all sorts of nonsense, including kidnapping themselves so that someone else would pay the persecutor a ransom.

I know you're joking, but this fear is a survival instinct, just like how some people are afraid of spiders or dogs.

There are thousands of species of spiders and under 30 of them have any medicaly significant venom to humans, it being leathal dose is extra rare, and most dogs wolves included are scared of people and not really aggresive, nothing survival about any of these 2.

If it had animation, it would even be possible to translate the game and make it more engaging to play. I don't like viewing still images. Of course, every game has still images, but during events like sex, rape, and others, animation makes a big difference in percentage, both for those who support it and for those who want to support it.
