And the most hilarious one to me -
3. "I actually have to work at this?" and "The (lack of) financial return":

View attachment 5439986

This one is so confusing to me because if he feels like he's spending too much time on the game... Just spend less time on the game? Lmao. You could spend like 2 hours a day instead on the game until it gets to the point you can comfortable invest more time into it.

Like I can understand the frustration of not getting the financial return you were expecting, but it takes time to build up an audience, and that almost never happens before a game is a decent ways into development already.

Player demand became heavily centered around Jenny.
Because of that, the work I put into other characters often felt like wasted effort, and it gradually drained my motivation.
But that's normal. Some of us wants more Jenny, but some of us (like me) wants more Riley!
How could you possibly think that working on Riley was a waste of time?!
Seriously?!

The game’s file size has grown far too quickly.
Even at this early stage, the size is already large, and future updates would only push it to an unacceptable level.

As my first project, the structure became increasingly messy.
There are systems I implemented early on that I can’t cleanly fix anymore. I learned the solutions too late, and now the foundation simply can’t support the improvements I want to make.
I have an idea: divide the game into seasons/chapters, like others do. Leave this (first) chapter as is, and you'll be able to start the next chapter over again, without making the same mistakes. The game's size (of single chapter) won't be so overwhelming either.

I’ve been working 5–6 hours every day.
Not counting my regular responsibilities. My social life has taken a huge hit, and despite all the time I invested, the financial return has been far from satisfying. Over time, this imbalance made it clear that I needed to rethink my priorities.
After all, you decide how much you work. Sure, it would be a bummer if you became one of those greedy devs who, despite the huge revenue, still release updates every 8-10 months (or even less frequently), but it's better than abandoning the project.

Even though this project is ending, I want to make one thing completely clear:
This doesn’t mean I’m quitting game development.

During this journey I learned a lot—about tools, storytelling, design, and about myself. And now, I’m not alone anymore. I have a new partner to work with, and together we’ve decided to start a new AI-driven project. We’re currently studying the tools and preparing the foundation for what we want to build next.
Unless that's the only thing - the amount of work required to create an AI game is minimal compared to a traditional one...

However, right now we're flooded with poor, boring, and ugly AI games, and it's only going to get worse!
I see your Patreon shows practically zero support, but you've shown that you have talent and taste. In my humble opinion, you'll sooner see success with MLT than with another crappy AI game.

greetings from a Riley fan

Is there any convenient way to pass the time? Events seem to be gated behind in-game time but I can't find any easy way to make time pass to a given point.

EDIT: Just found out there's a phone. That thing should probably be bigger, or at least not in the corner of the screen.

This game had potential, but the idea of making money without investing time is hard to grasp.

I published a review of this game in September, and it seems I wasn't wrong, as it showed all the signs of a game that would be quickly abandoned. If the intention is to create games with AI, it's clear they're looking for easy and quick money, which is understandable, but games that use AI are usually quite bad because they abuse the AI... Nevertheless, I wish them luck with their future projects.

The game its pretty solid, a couple of things that i think can improve the game: A button for open the phone, another one to skip time /for example in demon deals/urban demons the T button skips one hour and P open the phone/. a more clear Questlog, like a real walkthoug. fast travel map to common places school gym cafe etc. and my personal opinion more feet content?) /that last one was only my own wishes not something necesary/- Best wishes with your game!!!

Either my game is completely broken or I'm dumb. At the very start of the game I enter the house, can't interact with anything but the bed to sleep, and have no quests. I tried adding the quests.json from dev notes but same result.

Good day everyone. Could you please tell me when I sneak into my mom's (Jenny) room at night and she wakes up and locks the door. Then I can't get in to her room at night. How do I open the door? Or do I have to start all over again? Thank you.

Go out of the house and come back in. That helped me.

Overview:
M.Lust Town is a story-driven adult visual novel set in a seemingly peaceful small town hiding secrets behind closed doors. You play as a young man recently forced to return to his old home, where you're reunited with your estranged mother and sisters. As you navigate the tension-filled family dynamics, you’ll also explore the town, meet new characters, and uncover opportunities for deeper, more complex relationships.
While the early part of the game focuses on your home life, the town itself will gradually open up—introducing a variety of NPCs, unexpected storylines, and (hopefully) plenty of fun along the way.
