As for farming... Eh, I hadn't even thought about that lol. Now I'm curious. Next time I run the game I'll try to set some stuff up there, and I'll report back ;)
Let me know about farming cause I'm looking for optimisation on getting more out of it by doing less.

At the moment, the most time wasted is dealing with picking up produce or making seeds in farming and allocating the appropriate balance of workers vs plots of land for it. The farming project is the most time consuming for me at this point.

Farming is inherently inefficient because of how ass-backwards the farming AI is.

Short version: Just assign 1 worker for every 4 farm plots (small wooden planter = 4 plots, large stone planter = 8), 1 harvest box for every 3 workers (can make do with less boxes but can get a bit iffy), make sure each worker is nearby and their territory is set bigger than the minimum, done. Oh and also make sure you're spending time nearby because they'll stop working the plots if the cells are unloaded.

GDI. Well then, I guess farming AI is really a new level of ass-backward I have experienced. I come from farming-RPG games like Rune Factory, Story of the Seasons and the like. Hence, my interest if there was a way to optimise it.

Guess not, unless I want to intentionally create a situation of jailing them to one plot at any given time.

This especially doesn't work for me since I spend most of the game just pushing hard on trying to speed run and clear content.

For example, in my current run. I can reach and get access to all the end-game weapons and tools by day 15 without the need to change/run speed and pulling too many inefficient and difficult bugs/exploits. Flagport tactics for the win.

If I just do it the legit way, I think it will only add an extra 5 to 10 days. Since I have been using a full combat-oriented path to speed the process of reaching all three points of the gems and then running those the entire chaos dungeon to get the workbench unlocked to get access to the final weapon tree.

If you let your crops "wilt", then you'll get 4 pcs seeds of that crop. Sometimes it's beneficial to NOT harvest your crop on time and let it wilt if you're trying to amass more seeds like with rarer seeds such as cabbages, wheat, and bellpeppers.

Yeah, been doing a bit of both. But I wanted one site to just keep harvesting while another site is to just spam seed supplies through that method.

The only reason I care about farming is due to needing supplies to quickly get enough pizzas to do damage in a Reaper raid. It's much easier than trying to hunt for cows randomly.

I don't think there's a way to breed and procure high-quality meat via breeding pens since it's more like livestock pens for harvesting livestock goods.

I have not tried stacking the planters vertically to separate them by height, or use fences/walls to wall workers in. Maybe these approaches might work.

You can get high quality pork from pig pens (separate structure not to be confused with the breeding/livestock pens). Unfortunately the stuff you can make from pork are all inferior versions of the veggie pizza.

As for high quality beef (for the steak set), fastest way to farm them is to farm the Balphant. (drops around 5 beef per kill, IIRC). Save and reload to respawn him. You also need a lot of damage to kill him quickly. So either camp his spawn with loads of high level friendlies, or cheese him with cactus walls and needles. Also, if you're going to use this tactic, it should be done earlier before you build massive sprawling bases with loads of NPCs, because you don't want long-ass load times when you're repeatedly saving and reloading to farm him.

I was thinking the same thing. Just wall them and force them to stay their lane. I suspect their AI pathing will be an issue still though.

I'm only caring for attack since I don't even know what to think about defense calculations. It's not like it's % damage reduction... right?

Oh the mini-boss in the desert? Nice, didn't know that. And that will be kind of easy. Since my NPC army tends to be mainly rabbits doing my bidding. So I'll just kind of storage them when I want to do fast farming. Just need to get 100 Quality Beef and I'm mint.
