I think UnknownLurkingUser tested that you can if they are set to harvest and they can get to fish traps.

A ton of possible reasons.
Most likely reason is optimization/changed asset resolution - but I can't answer if it actually is that one.
Aside of that there's possibilities for merges to prevent duplicates and whatnot - again, can't say it is that reason.
There's so many possibilities for this that it will be difficult to say without direct statement from the dev, or manually checking the assets and code differences.

Yes you can
Just have a fish trap at the river/beach or whatever water within their "movement" range, you have to set your Slave's job to "Harvest" with a "Harvest Box" nearby
Example, the Pond nearby the Gate, gives you Goldfishes, shrimps and Regular boring ass fishes.


If you care about your NPC kept falling into the Water, you could use glass platform on top of the Fish trap
You can still access it funny enough.

Yeah it does, going forward the new dlc will only work with v0.42 and higher. Expect this to happen again the next time devs update the dlc content, which might be sooner than later since dlc is still missing some animations like preg rape and preg sleep rape. Hell underground and large woman don't have preg sex so there is still alot to do concerning H, that said let's all remember to not pretend there isn't a lot of H content in the game already. Let's be good little porn addicts and patiently wait for our next hit.

Here Mad Island 0.42 with None.bat included
So far it's working pretty well for me, further testing requires.

Important Note:
Due to Forum Rule 7, You're forbid to post/share the Loli or Shota related files or images
Update Mad Island Version 0.42 is mainly about the DLC content which is about Loli/Shota
If you want/desire the DLC file to download, just search for the Developer's website for it, Google it.
Once you downloaded it, no need to extract it, just find the DLC folder (above XML folder) and shove it in.
You'll know it worked when you see them(Loli/Shota) around the map.

Here's how Mad Island's Save system works
SaveData/SaveImage/SaveMap/SaveSetting/SaveView/None.bat is interchangeable with Any Versions/Platforms
When people update their game, they only need to put XML folder into the New Version and it'll work without issue

What's None.bat? basically a decensor file for Mad Island

This isn't like RPGMaker Savefiles where Versions matters.
Ultimately you can just use Cheat/Console commands to give yourself some boost to make the game easier over asking for Saves.
