I feel... this is a losing battle that will never end.

But I agree on this statement.
We are 966 pages deep, i honestly don't expect anyone to be reading through all this, but if someone decides to ask something they gotta at least be reading the posts that come after to see if anyone answers. Answers might not even be a direct reply either.
What people really need is some patience, I recommend reading One Piece, that'll learn them some tolerance for the passing of time.

Question for folks who have messed around with visiting/raiding other islands: Could you use islands to store items and transfer them between save files? Just wondering if there is a way to save time on gathering resources when starting a new save file if an update requires it.

You can't.

Visiting a save doesn't alter it no matter what you do. The game also reloads your last-loaded save when you end a visit, so you lose everything including XP and all items picked up while visiting. You also lose all your progress since you last loaded the game, even the stuff prior to the visit, unless you saved over the last loaded save right before the visit. (Not recommended, it's best to save-and-reload because you might pick the wrong save to save over.)

The only exceptions are tokens earned during a visit; the game will take note of the tokens you earned and put them in a crate next to you when it reloads your save after you're done with a visit. A side bonus is you get a free crate to use as a container.

And for obvious reasons never, ever save a game while visiting another save.

Just wondering if there is a way to save time on gathering resources when starting a new save file if an update requires it.
Just cheat the resources back in using the /get command.

Also generally speaking the game is quite good at maintaining backwards-compatibility over updates anyway provided you don't immediately jump into the buggy new versions (the ones ending with a .0 when a new milestone update is released). And don't use mods. And don't jump back to an older version after moving your save to a newer version. The game effectively rebuilds the map from scratch on reload (which is why saving and loading takes forever).

Bugged event flags are rare on patched releases, and if they occur can be fixed with console commands or save editing anyway.

Personally I only start a new playthrough if my save file gets too bloated and loading takes forever. Or if I want a new challenge or fresh playthrough.

Wait, wait, wait. You can visit/raid other islands now? As in, not just the small islands on the map around the main island but a completely different map? What the actual hell, when was that implemented and what's the extent of it?
I didn't play the game in roughly 5-6 months.

Same map, just someone else's save. Or another one of yours. Just put the .xml save file inside the \Mad Island_Data\StreamingAssets\DLSave and you can visit it by interacting with the Workshop Workbench.

The feature was implemented in version v.0.4.5.x. It's pretty much still pointless though since you can only get tokens from this that you exchange for cosmetics and early game weapons. And a spinning saw base defense structure, though that one is a glorified iron needle that deals weakass damage.

Buddy read the thread. This is like third time you have asked a question that was answered like 1-2 pages before.
I know it's coming out this month, I was just wondering about an exact date on this month. No need to be an asshole about it.

Ah, so scroll through a number of thread pages approximately Bible or Stephen King novel sized, in search of that one little answer that may or may not be there, may or may not be helpful if it is there, and may or may not contain copium levels of unwanted and unnecessary snark? (y) Gotcha bro.

hint: the thread search bar is a thing...

Nobody likes entitled askholes who literally ask questions that were already answered or heavily discussed in only 1-2 pages prior.

Especially when all you do is come to the thread and ask when is the update going to come out 4 times in a row.

This board does not move that fast, especially since no update is out yet. If you ask something, somebody in the thread will likely respond within a page or 2 from that post. A bit of reading won't kill anyone and lord knows if they're already posting they were never gonna use the search bar anyway, bring a horse to water etc.

DLC content at the moment tends to shift focus a lot, i do blame the amount of different kind of content DLC has BUT tends to be always yona or MC related

Girl DLC is the only one that has content with the natives right? Since this next friday we will get Yona content (maybe DLC related too)

I can't remove the censorship. I did everything that was said on the first page and installed the DLC, but it won't go away. Thanks in advance.

That is usually an issue when you place too many houses next to each other, and their path finding glitches out because they always try to go to the door that is closest to them regardless if it is in another house that is out of bounds.

For example if you have a NPC staying in House A and they go to bed in the upper left corner, and you Have House B almost clipping the top side of House A. The NPC will keep trying to walk to the door of House B and getting stuck on invisible walls or falling into the abyss instead of exiting out the door of House A due to the distance.

The best advice I was given when dealing with villagers and their population is to literally only populate their territory to the house with a max of 3 or 4 villagers (or whatever the number of beds you can fit in the house without overlapping).

Which means you end up with a lot of satellite villages. But you can flag port to the satellite villages, so it doesn't end up being an issue.

For any reason, you need to eject the villagers from the house or tent. Just use the return button on the NPC menu to force them back to the original position they have been set. That will let you move or do whatever you need for that house/tent.

How the fuck am I entitled? All I asked were questions. I don't know if it's the way I wrote it, then I apologize. I didn't try to be demanding; you don't need to answer either, and it's not like I read every thread, so chill the fuck down. I won't ask questions if it triggers you so much.
