Archers can both fire up and down slopes when MC approaches and they still cause damage so I consider this proof of you being wrong... though I haven't placed an army of tamed archers on higher ground to let death rain upon my enemies.
But my MC died to often trying to approach enemy archers haveing the high ground
Well too bad, I am right here.
No offense, I would like to invite you to re-read the messages shall we?
Original Question:
Q, can ranged natives attack through "invisible walls"? For example, I plan to make a base in that area with the northeast river and the mountain. If I place native guards on the cliff below the path, will they manage to attack any raiders that are below?
My answer :
No, they cannot attack through invisible wall, it's a solid barrier, but AoE attacks might go pass through them
I do not recall the enemies can see through the invisible wall as well, correct me on that one, I play without the invisible wall, but I did have experience of the invisible wall stopping massive raids coming to my base which is annoying to me.
Here's the following screenshots to proof my claims
1. Enemies behind an Invisible Wall
This is the Location for my claims, Now Idk where he wants to setup at the
NorthEast River but this location has an
Invisible Wall and it's pretty Obvious as you can see with
the amount of Halloween Raiders stuck there
I originally have a Stone barrier there, removed and it's in my taskbar.
2. Ranged NPC cannot see/shoot through Invisible Walls
I have an
Elite Archer Native following me set to Aggressor, as the screenshot above, she
has not yet Spot the enemies NOR have she fired any Arrow at them.
3. AoE damage can pass through Invisible Walls, however normal arrow cannot.
This is shown with the Chaos Bow & Arrow
Do notice the screenshot on the right
It has body parts and less enemy after my ability shot with the Chaos bow which
deals AoE damage
And how I have shot at the enemy normally and my
arrows bounces off of the Invisible Wall.
I Don't think I need to show this again but here we are.
Invisible Wall on, Ranged Natives can't see the hostile NPC and won't shoot.
Invisible Wall off, She instantly Saw the hostile NPC and fires an Arrow.
Invisible Wall back on, She's shooting at a Solid Wall, Arrows Dropping on the ground.
Unless of course you're referring to sitting on the invisible wall directly then sure.
Notice the Shadow of me sitting in mid-air
Invisible Walls comes in all sizes and height, you're welcome to figure it out yourself and work out a design.
But for me to be wrong? nah, I don't agree to that.
You're more than welcome to debunk my claims here, with screenshots or video
I have very much play this game 1/5 of the total gameplay with invisible wall on, trying to build just to get annoyed of it, turned it off and felt good of the gameplay than having
some awful Invisible Wall placements littered all over the map when you can bypass them easily like you see with these two Red Flags placement.
Turn invisible wall off, experience freedom gameplay, specially nice for Base Builders.
