I find it interesting that people are so against AI art, but say nothing about the thousands of games on this site that use basic Honey Select/Koikatsu/etc. models (not to mention, the same unedited default model for the male MC). It's all the same level of low-effort jank to me.
And while there are lazy attempts like this, there's also edited AI art that's on point.
Basically, what I'm saying is... don't be a luddite.
Ex-fucking-xactly
Because of the easy accessibility of making games, whether using Koikatsu/HS or other software like AI art to make images, Ren'Py, RPGM or Unity for coding, and fucking Paint 3D for the user interface, we end up with cheap shit for the pure sake of making a quick buck and obviously you can see devs never actually have passion in this
Making games needs to be hard again, not for the sake of being hard it's so it drives away the people who want to make cheap shit for a quick buck, and there will be only people who are serious and passionate into making games will tackle it and we actually get good shit
It's like Japanese, a lot of weeaboos want to learn the language to watch anime without subs or flex on people, but when they actually try to tackle the language they just give up because it's too hard for them. And Japanese is a difficult language to learn. (I know this myself, I am currently suffering) so you will only have people who are serious and passionate into learning the language and end up learning it quite successfully and they become fluent.
Now, because game development has been easier the appeal of people wanting to make their very own game is there, but you end up having a lot of people taking advantage of it so they can make money off of it, it's obviously not a passion project for them, they just want money and fame.
Yeah I want the money and fame too, but if it was only for the money and fame I would've had my game out after a week, but no, I've spent ALMOST A YEAR on the entire thing, trying to fine-tune everything so it's perfect for not only myself, but for everyone else. Game developing is a passion of mine, not for these people. I'm not saying that you can't be passionate for this stuff, but it's obvious that the passion isn't there.
