This info is wrong. The dev already mentioned in a comment to someone else asking on their ci-en page when release date by replying that Selenoxia will be released in 2026. An official release will take 1 year MINIMUM if not 2 from Kagura.

Consider this:
Celesphonia release date: December 2020
Official translation from Kagura: May 2022

Enicia release date: May 2023
Official translation from Kagura for Enicia: May 2024

But Enicia is much smaller game than Celesphonia and you can bet that Kagura put top priority on translating these games as soon as possible because they are in most demand and sell the best even then translation takes a long time.

Celesphonia had 7 chapters plus final boss stage on release and DLC in November 2021 but the dev already said on ci-en that Selenoxia will have at least 12 chapters. That demo on his page contains first 2 chapters that gives 15-18 hours of playtime. Assuming that dev plans on sticking to Selenoxia being 12 chapters at same size we are looking at a much bigger game than Celesphonia and MINIMUM 2 years for official translation from Kagura if not longer.

The dev isnt hinting that Selenoxia is going to be released very soon either so it will probably be released in late 2026 so expect an official translation from Kagura no earlier than 2028 if not 2029. Dont expect an official translation sooner. If dev releases DLC like he did for Celesphonia that is huge in content after release then expect official translation in 2029 because Kagura would include that DLC in translation before selling it.

The recent payment method censorship leading to delisted adult games on itch io and demands to delist on Steam under threats of no payments allowed at all for all games probably hit Kagura hard too since they only sell translated adult games which will likely lead to layoffs for translators since their sales took a huge hit and the payment censorship of adult games could lead to outright ban on selling all adult games on Steam in the future and Kagura is at the mercy of steam for most of their sales. Steam already delisted and banned many adult games and the scope will likely expand to ban even more games. All of this to say it will lengthen translation time since fewer translators will be employed by Kagura and if all adult games will be banned on steam in the future which is possible then Kagura will be out of business too and a delayed translation effort will turn into no translation period.

Now you might think ok so what just use Mtool for translation right? Well the free version of it is trash translation dont know about paid one. But AI translation will never be as good as official translation and most importantly it does not translate text within images which Kagura does as well.

In the meantime better hope old 3in1 gets official translation soon and that it is not given up. If new 3in1 (maple?) or VIP takes another 2 years to develop without issue, translation will take time too but those are volunteer efforts instead of paid full time translation as a job so who knows how long that takes or they quit translating.
While it's true AI translation will never be as good as a human one, I think we are entering an era where it doesn't matter. AI translation is so much cheaper that even official translations will just be AI-made where at best they pay somebody to do a quality check on it before pushing it out there. In Japan salaries are just very low already and making a profit off a translated h-game is nontrivial I imagine.

Honestly fuck the next game. That slop called Serenoxia never gonna be Better then Celesphonia anyway.
Out of interest, what is making you feel that way? I admit I'm not a fan of the traversal/map system, but overall I'm preferring what we saw in the demo as it's looking like everything I liked about Celesphonia is being scaled up a little, and I much prefer the new FC to Amane visually and personality-wise. I've always had a thing for the skinny, slightly gloomy looking, shy characters.

While it's true AI translation will never be as good as a human one,
They can also be vastly better than a very basic MTL some 'translator' slapped onto a title and call it a day, usually ensuring said title never gets a better translation unless it's a really, really high profile release. Which admittedly Serenoxia will be. But speaking generally. Just look at Magical Fighting Princess Frostea. It's 'translated' in the same way a lot of MTL translated games are, barely any better than 'all your base are belong to us' tier. I've take AI over MTL any day, in the same way I'll always prefer a human translator to AI until it's basically perfect and can subtly alter text based on intended context and cultural intent.

Not the poster you are replying to but I somewhat agree with them that Selenoxia will be worse but certainly not slop like that poster said. Enicia came after Celesphonia drastically cut down in scope compared to Celesphonia and had practicaly no combat and the battles in it were awful and barebones and a dice roll mechanic that made the game dependent on luck and is questionable game design. Suffice to say Enicia was either like it or hate it so a concern is that Selenoxia could have such elements built in or go that way too.

Selenoxia I think it will be 80% as good as Celesphonia judging by the demo at best. The art quality has worsened since Celesphonia, still better than most games but not as good as it was with Celesphonia. Hell look at his ci-en page that shows Amane renderings in Selenoxia and honestly tell me if the art quality is just as good as Celesphonia. In fact if you look at his latest or prior dev log translated he says he forgot how to color the way he used to since Celesphonia which isnt a good sign either. I dont really like the character model of Selenoxia but that is subjective. The battle fuck pose is sideways stance in Selenoxia which makes no sense and does not change position. Why not make it front facing like Celesphonia? The battle fuck damage is also just worse than Celesphonia because unlike Celesphonia where the standing art gets fucked you have art cut outs instead which is not as good and costume damage isnt great because sideways stance again. But that is judging by the demo and that could change. I cant say anything about the writing because machine TL through mtool free is extremely bad so I dont know how good the actual writing is.

Still all of this is too early to say. Many people give him feedback on his ci-en page maybe that demo does not reflect his current build and the above points dont apply. Maybe he has private test build reviewers and patrons who give feedback I dont know. But if more of the same as demo then Ill play it when translated and probably appreciate it a lot but not be wowed as this game.

Something that Celesphonia truly did spectacularly was show that an H-game can be something really amazing and respectable in a lot of ways. The excellent soundtrack, decent writing, and really good game design showed that an h-game can be legit and that is without the nsfw. I dont think that Selenoxia will be at that level but the demo soundtrack is already very good at least. Latest dev post on ci-en says middle of 2026 for full release so we will find out soon.

Damn really xD? I mean, i do like more the looks of the protagonist of Celesphonia but dunno about anything else yet

Ai translation will never be as good as a human one ? Really ?
In the past few decades people have said similar things, such as that Ai and advanced technology will never overtake the arts, they will push factory automization but will never threaten and compete with human creativity, they thought Ai will never be able to write, or make music, or create art pieces.

And now ? Ai can unfortunately create objectively better looking art than most human artists, quicker, and some Ai art has been, as much as it pains me to say so, indistiquishable from the top human made one. I hate Ai art with a passion, but much of it is objectively better looking than the vast majority of human made.
And ofc, Ai can indeed write and make music too.

And so, in my opinion, saying Ai translations will never be as good as human ones, seems to be shortsighted. I know there are a lot of special connotations, especialy in the Japanesse lanquage that require flexible thinking in translating phrases into english, but to be honest, I think given another few years, there will be some Ai translator that could be able to catch and translate anything.
