Game's fine but the transformation sequence you can't skip is actually what pissed me off enough to quit.
God. Damn. Dude. I get it if you wanna splash it once, it is pretty for what it is, but it's not necessary every time.
I don't mind it basically being on-rails it's pretty generic for what it is I just can't with that more than twice.

Someone needs to mod this so that the transformation sequence either doesn't exist or it can be skipped.
extract this and put it in the movies folder "Magical Princess Lily\movies" and replace the file, truncating the movie seemed like the easiest way

Probably 99% of games can be considered trash, if you compare them to Celesphonia, as it is superb game...

It's a corruption scene collector with heavy emphasis on rape/tentacles where the scenes gradually progress to more extreme as the MC gets corrupted. Tiina the Swordswoman of Scarlet Prison and Fallen Makina and the City of Ruins are very similar in this regard (MC's are more "strong willed" badass vs. cute in these ones though).

think im stuck? this is after the tree fight, telling me to 'ask the students about adachi'. spoke to teacher then student council, wandered around and saw this. unable to interact from any angle

try loading some earlier saves and try again, sometimes the game just lags and make you stuck

ah wait, I remember there is one point in time where you can't do anything more on that day and you have to speak to the 2nd "protagonist" girl (Minoko? if I remember correctly) and you have to take a "nap" to proceed. BE SURE TO SAVE BEFORE THAT, as you need to first to click "yeah" two times and that can brick your game -> restart it, than choose "no" and then "yeah" (or something like this - I know it is stupid but it works, at least for official steam version patched both 1.0.8 and 1.1.1 XD)
That particular thing is a sprite bug where the event sprite pops up but the underlying event isn't there, you need to keep exploring and find a different place to do the thing.

Returning to that topic, not sure why you recommended Makina here, as despite sharing the same engine and fact of female protagonists, these are two totally different games in the story and the structure (did not play Tina yet so can not relate to that).
Not sure what exactly you liked the most in Celesphonia, but if you are looking for something that would be 1:1, then https://f95zone.to/threads/nightmare-knight-sacred-maiden-fallen-magic-v2-01-orzpinez.172436/ is the closest one I think - of course scale is much smaller and it is not even close to the MGC story and gameplay level, but overally it is enjoyable experience
