The game was in development hell due to a publisher deal that... didn't work out well. The dev is still working on it, but is kind of pushing through the publisher nonsense.
But no, the standard Patreon model is not "the least they can do", and is honestly not a very good model for game development at all. It's just the only means some amateur devs have to fund their projects, but it severely limits how they can approach development and is a big part of the reason so many of those games collapse in on themselves. Proper game development does not typically take the form of just making a fully playable chapter 1 followed by a fully playable chapter 2 and then a fully playable chapter 3 at regular intervals.
To elaborate by "the least they can do" I was more thinking about Belgerum as a creator not factoring in things like Patreon support. As I said I have been following them for a long time.
I meant as a
general rule for making a game they can slowly update it.

I don't know what to tell ya because that's usually how I see games in development work. Then again I play a lot of "amateur" developed type games. I don't expect "proper" game development. But I do expect some progress at
least monthly maybe two tops. Especially for a game like this.
However it's not the developer's fault if Patrons
don't cancel their subscriptions. You aren't
forced to pay if you don't want to.
You also could have I don't know. Do a
background check of the person you are supporting instead of complaining? If you did you would know Belgerium is an amateur creator. Not some professional that can do "proper game development".
How long have you been on this site? Because games releasing chapters in intervals is pretty common here. I'm not sure why you are so salty because their activity should be expected judging by this site and Belgerium's BG.
