Well the "_Textbox_font_slider" file included with my mod increases the font size as well included a opacity slider. But it some times can cause load errors with some titles, so it's a gamble with each title it's used on.

There is another option if the gui file (located in the game folder) hasn't been hidden by the developer, you can edit the title's file to increase the font size. (But keep a clean copy before you edit it, in case something goes wrong.)

Regards
So if I were to use it on another game what would need to be deleted to try and make compatible

Nothing is needed...just drop (copy it) into your game folder of the title you are going to play and run the exe file. And if you get load errors...then the scripting for that title isn't compatible with the font slider mod.

Hello!

It's my pleasure to see you guys again.

Not literally, but you know what I mean. The few brave souls that read these progress updates is the very reason I write them. It's the, erm, cycle of progress posts. I pretend to put effort in the posts, you pretend to read them!

I'm writing script. Yep, that's right. And yes, it's still going slow. I've written the longest sex scene so far in MtP though, so that should count for something! I'm going to start putting some renders together very soon though to get that part of the development cycle moving as well.

On the money side of things, Trump did something with a something to do with debanking. It certainly wasn't about adult games and their problems, although I wouldn't be surprised if Trump was into furries. It was probably more to do with him being debanked some years ago. Still, it might spill over into our little pond and be beneficial. Last thing I heard was that paypal now does not allow steam purchases at all.

How the hell did we end up in a situations where credit card companies and banks decide what's morally acceptable? Sheesh. Fight the power!

Anyway, there was a couple of questions this week. Let's do those!

Wolfram99
Is the last update proving more difficult to write than previous updates?

Yes and no. It's not really any more complicated than other updates. I'm not doing a big "farewell" update. There will be a little bit of something special towards the end, but until then it's mostly lewd stuff. Still, it's proving to be a slow journey to write it. I'm not sure why. Maybe it's some mental thing? I can't explain it, but I'm not getting words down on paper at the speed I usually do.

Why is Beth the only one redeeming the pregnancy card?

I've been told late-game pregnancy is lazy and boring. I ran out of time, as simple as that. If there's ever an act 2, maybe?

Okay, let's end this here. Thank you for reading and thank you for your support. Talk to you again soon. Maybe there will even be renders to show soon!

Evening.

I posted a public progress report on and .

It has two pictures, if you can believe it. There's also an important question in it, that you can provide a thought for if you feel like it. Or not. I'll let you decide!

Have a nice weekend.

man those public previews you are trying to get me to like one of my least favorite characters because of this preview. Well rather least favorite compared to the main ones I like cause I do like Christine more than the Miko , Hannah and Jasmine but wouldn't say she is a main interest for me

If you are adding a combat module I hope it's naked jello wrestling match between Chris and Hannah.

I'm not good enough of a coder to do a sandbox. That's the main thing stopping me, not that people hate them!

At the risk of de-railing the thread, what is appealing about a sandbox?

Repeatable scenes? Gallery.
Having to be in the right place at the right time for a scene to trigger? I suppose accomplishment but who actively wants that?
Risking a disjointed story because you progressed someone's story further than someone else's? Again, who wants that?

I know these are just quick thoughts but I've never heard a valid defense for sandboxes that I've liked. The only "appealing" aspect should be player freedom but I feel too much is sacrificed for that freedom.

That you can let a player unlock all content in one playthrough instead of separating it into paths where you need multiple saves to see all content.

Another thing I kind of like about sandboxes is that you can gradually give the same scene lewder and lewder variations as points increase. Both visually and in the writing.

And freedom to progress someone's story more, someone else's less, and so on. You can get much more of one character's scenes in a coherent sequence by focusing on them, instead of jumping around from girl to girl like you'll inevitably do in a VN.

For your first point, you can do that VN style or sandbox style but I suppose it is easier in a sandbox. It just depends on the design choice. There are some VNs that are simple A-B journeys and you unlock all the scenes along the way.

The 2nd point is a big no on a personal preference so agreeing to disagree works for me. I can see the appeal though.

What bugs me about the third point...stealing some of your characters for my example.

You have Beth. I really like Beth so I'm going to progress her content. This will eventually lead to her interacting with the other characters, such as Hannah. Hannah goes through multiple makeovers throughout the story. So when I'm on Beth's route, I will see various forms of Hannah that might not match where Hannah is in her own route, if that makes sense.

It's even more apparent when it's something like pregnancy. I recently played another VN that is sandbox style in which you're going to impregnate several of the characters. Due to the sandbox style, there were scenes where a character was pregnant but hadn't been through their "pregnancy" scene in my playthrough.

Now, the quick and easy defense is saying "That's a bad sandbox," and I would agree. With the traditional VN approach, you, as the author, dictate when events should happen. It's a loss of freedom but one I'm willing to accept for narrative consistency.

I find this depends on the sandbox and it's the main reason I avoid them unless there is something that makes me want to play 1 . As if there is any branching I find it kills any desire in me to do multiple saves but AVN's without sandbox I love doing multiple saves. But yeah if you can get everything in 1 save on said sandbox then I don't hate it even if it's never my favorite type of playstyle for an AVN. But the ones ive played I need multiple saves to see everything.

Sandbox is good if it's more of an economic sim like a brothel simulator, but for story telling its a grind and I prefer VN with choices or just straight up kinetic.
