That is actuallly very common among us people who have learned English outside of school.
Or in English speaking countries where besides locally educated English teachers they also employ both UK and US trained ones, and then let them confuse the hell out of their students by not forcing a single standard English language in the class rooms.

I had the fanny argument with a retarded girl from the UK, she was convinced it means pussy but I was brought up to believe a fanny was a butt.
The mom is a trainwreck from a writing standpoint, she is on vacation but at the drop of a hat she is all set to go out with the would be rapist room cleaner who fucking let's himself into your hotel room whenever? It's shitty because stuff like this does happen, women are targeted even before they arrive because of special 'holiday packages' at hotels. Off the top of my head I can think of two incidents where hotel staff conspired against woman, the absolute worst case was

that clearly shows her being dragged and beaten. Game isn't awful, just for a strong independent woman to be that fucking stupid and gullible just don't work for me. Maybe it's just me and my autism level is just too high and I need to be drunk or high to enjoy this.

Slang terms are always a problem when you have multiple regions using the same language. Thongs are also a name for flip-flops in Aus, and bitch gets used as a slang for slut in Japan. The definitions are still the same though, no matter how people use them.
English must be a real arsehole of a language to learn as your second, so many inconsistencies. It's what we get for Frakensteining half a dozen root languages together and calling it a day, this does make it very flexible though.
