It's because languages really don't convert to each other and translations are mostly loose approximations, and Japanese in particular is built entirely on contextual usages, countless spelling permutations for nearly any word, and obscene levels of wordplay.

I legitimately don't believe an automatic translator will ever be able to competently grasp it without human revisions since it's such an arbitrary language that can't have an end-all be-all "guide" for a machine to follow.
Good translators can, more or less, translate with nuance nearly instantaneously. If a human brain can do it in a second, computers will be able to do it even faster.
Real issue imo is that
1) translation is already at a "good enough" phase, where the literal meaning is coherent, which causes stagnation, and
2) where's the money in it? Fresh native English teachers in Japan are already being paid US federal minimum wage. Good luck finding any who can code, in this niche field, and gets paid par for their education and skillset.

It sucks our porn games are poetry, but we'll need more time and well paid Shakespeare Takahashis before it's automatic.

Good luck coding a computer to be fluent in Japanese when not even most native Japanese speakers are fully fluent in their own written language because of how dynamically arbitrary and complex it is. Humans use intuition and context to translate, machines just process the information they're fed and act within the set guidelines, you can't code in guidelines that simply don't exist.

The "good enough" translations for actually complex written languages range from literal gibberish to a toddler's level of fluency, things like grammar, wordplay, and context usages are completely butchered or outright lost and nothing short of functional machine learning will ever fix that.

not sure if this CE table will work for everyone, I haven't polished out the pointers... but i'm not planning on playing the game longer since it lacks a lot of content variation.

Game doesn't seem to save at all. How annoying.

Uncensoring will require data file editing as the BepInEx uncensor plugins don't work.

Because the software can´t understand context. Personal names, object names and phrases all come from the same few kanji and mean translated the same thing. The context of the sentence makes it either of those things. That´s how you end up with people named declining winter, purple hyazinthe or leapfrog.
Had to make those up but everybody has seen them and I can´t remember a single one, I consider myelf lucky. I think the best ones I´ve seen were in auto translated illusion games, before any translators get a patch out.
You're also expecting a porn game to be written well without errors, so that could also lead to some truly fine poetry.

ive tested it and its free of any virus and as it is a modified game its likely to cause false alarms. For example: a game with added cheats got a hack ,same for cracked games or an uncesnor patch.they are all hacks and so it happens that you can get an alarm from your anti-vir but that doesnt mean that it does any harm to your computer. Because of this i had to remove Windows Defender as it was always trying to get rid of my mods

We literally have robot artists winning awards now, but MTL will always stay a dumpster fire.
From what I understand, they are still kind of the same thing. Granted the art one is way more advanced.
The art generating A.I. only work because it have a large enough database of what human considered art to replicate. It doesn't really "create" art, only replicating and blending existing works so it fit the criteria we gave it. Just as that machine don't understand what beauty is, so does the Translation machine not understand nuances and context of a language.

Another example would be if you ask a robot to make food to feed humans, the only thing it can make are from recipes it already have. If it doesn't have that, the food it make may end up edible and have enough nutrient, but taste completely foul. Because a machine cannot replicate the sense of taste.

This dev can create 1 game every 6 months. Maybe other developers should learn one thing or two from him.

The funny thing is, that's exactly what human artists do as well. Good artists copy. Great artists steal.
Yup. Arts and sciences have only leapfrogged the greats since before Christ. Photorealistic pencil drawings may not be possible without Michelangelo's tumor-jacked ideal man. Most humans just aren't that creative. Imagine MTL coder prodigies in a capitalist-only first world.

Welp, if you set an AI with enough training, it would be more than feasible, since language is one of the easiest things for AI to be trained on. Thing is, it wouldn't be cheap and accesible, at least for a while.
