I am having the same problem. Looking over this thread for an answer. No luck just yet. And yes, the game is too big to restart each time. Thank god it does not crash as often as other games I've played, which required saving every 50 clicks orso .
Let's keep looking for that save option with parallels.

Just tried deleting the standard temp save file, but that did not work.
Then got someone's save file from this thread. The save file works, but still " The game could NOT be saved. " " Make sure there are no illegal characters in the file name. "

Anyone any ideas? I have zero expierence in coding and the likes.

Also tried Wine, but then the text of the game are gone. I manage the first to "buttons", but there after everything is a guess.

Not sure but I think you should have 2 options when you go on weekdays. You want to choose the option to help here I think.

I tried to search for this, but have had no luck. I'm unable to save games. Any time I try, it says it cannot Save and to make sure there are no illegal characters. I've tried renaming the saves, the folder the game is in and even the exe file and nothing changes. I'm guessing it's because I am running windows on a Mac using parallels. I've ran into a few problems with games before, but that would usually be that a game wouldn't run. This game seems to run fine, but I just can't save. Anyone have any ideas or workarounds? As is, I'd have to start over every time I quit or crash.

I haven't used parallels or fusion in a long time, but those environments are full Windows machines. If you can't save, it's a Windows file or permissions problem.

Is your game installed on a Mac volume or a Windows volume? Try moving it to Windows if it's on a Mac volume.

Do you have writes to c:\Program Files locked out? If so, allow writes there. The save folder is in c:\Program Files\Man of the house v0.7.4c (extra)\save by default (for version 7.4c).

If neither of these work, try running in a wrapper. Instructions
