i'm literally here only for story and action, though i understand ppl's frustration with the game, it's porn game afterall, however after a second thought, now it seems exactly like the earlier days of the game except we have to live the pain of waiting for the slow development of 30 minutes gameplay over a whole year for each route ...

Haha, I once talked with the author about the problem of decreasing subscriptions. He doesn't want to develop Manila 2 unless his subscriptions increase. He doesn't seem to consider the problems of his own game and insists on making a fun game long and boring. He also refuses to communicate the plot with his fans or listen to suggestions. So I think this game has almost entered a vicious circle. It's no longer interesting and even rotten.

Maybe the dev shouldn't have bored us all to death with this long boring story event. All these fights are getting to be beyond annoying. Manila was much more fun on the cop path. This ending is getting tiring.

Sub and interest are dropping because the writing and scenarios are getting stale.
I do agree with you, but at the same time there might be a reason to this long story event. The dev has made a lot of paths. Count the torches with red or blue fires. If I'm correct there are 64 different combinations (2^(6)=64). That's quite a lot of endings to me. Don't know how many of them that will be made.
But if the dev find that one ending turns way too odd it got to be quite chaotic in the head to come up with something else that fit in. I hope that the dev see the possibilities with these endings and ask us players what ending everyone prefer and start making another game from the result, when he/she feels ready for it.

It may be understandable if the dev at some points has pushed himself/herself beyond the limits to make such a great game. It takes time to get back on track if you feel all beaten up.

But it would be sad if the dev never uses the talent that game building has given him/her again after this game is finished.

Make no mistake this is one of my favorite titles on this board but it has hit a severe dead spot on the way to it's ending. I like the character looks and motivations, so I'm not bashing 90% of this title. I would never advocate for a rushed unsatisfying ending but this current end game has taken to much time and needs to be tightened up.

I used to support this title and would love to see Manila again in another VN, but the dev has lost the plot when it comes to maintaining fan/reader interest in this title. I seriously hope he has something amazing planned for the end but right now I'm doubtful.

I know you wildride69 are a wholehearted patron of this game. I've been following many of your posts, and admire you. Some people write things that developers never should have to read. If those people disliked the game, there would be no reason for them to follow the game at all. I do also think this game deserves more love from its developer. I've been thinking a lot about why game creation has descended to this low level. My hope is that the dev has started a sequel, and has come up with such a great idea that it's hard to let it go. ...And that's why we don't hear much from the him/her of this game. Don't know what is really happening around the dev. As long as he/she is well and hasn't given up on us gamers and on Manila.

Uh, I see you've been discussing a sequel to this game, but you should know that if the subscription volume doesn't increase, he won't create a sequel. Maybe you're talking about DLC, but I can also tell you that summarizing the DLC plot based on my chat with the author won't be very good

Update v0.39 John Doe Path:

Release date:
July*

*(The release date of the update is an estimate and can't be considered binding)

Playable days: Sunday - John Doe Path

Scheduled:

I made a change. If Manila and the others are defeated by Red Moon and Grace is kidnapped, there will no longer be a return into Manila’s soul for a later event. Instead, a Bad Ending will be triggered where Red Moon wins.

  • John Doe Path - Renderings (65%)
    • Battles (3/???)
    • Animations (2/2)
    • Dialogues (0%)
    • Programming (0%)
    • Testing (0%)
Keep the save folder between updates. It needs to be transferred!

The lack of interest, reflected in the sharp and repeated drop in subscriptions, will affect the duration of the update. It may be concluded earlier than expected, not only due to low interest, but also because of the growing intent to pirate the game and play it for free!

I believe most of us do have interest in the game! i do see some jealous haters outhere leaving stupid comments, if they don't like the game then they should leave and go play some other game! in the future im hoping the developer will continue with this game Manila Shaw II or create something similar with same type of mechanics perhaps a different story with different job, etc!

The author will not make Manila 2 if the subscription volume is insufficient. I have talked to him about this, so those who really want to play Manila 2 should support him.

Well that's not happening. I haven't played this game in a year now, maybe more. He has been stuck on this section for so long, it might as well be its own game. People liked Manilla cuz she's sexy, and the corruption system with the choices was very good. The dev had all he needed to make a good game. Instead we're stuck on this now for years, and he never bothered even trying to make better animations. People support good projects and money comes, but this ain't it. If he wants support he should make better updates.

Rather than saying that the author didn't develop Manila 2 because of insufficient subscriptions, it's better to say that he didn't develop it because he lost interest in developing it. He has now fallen into a vicious circle, using his wild imagination to make a long and boring plot, and then blaming the sponsors for not supporting him? I tried to talk to him about some plot issues, but he refused to communicate. I tried to ask him how much he could update, and he refused to answer, saying that the time was incalculable. Now I even think that he just wants to squeeze as much money as possible from the sponsors. Then make a bunch of garbage and give it to the sponsors.

I don't think anyone will get anything good out of talking/writing bad about anyone. If people don't like the game and the developer I see no reason why they are around. The development of the game might have hit a wall. We all see that. But instead of talking/writing bad it could actually help the dev if people start talking about what they like about the game and how they imagine things around Manila and her life. Constructive ideas might open up new ways of thinking to the dev, and that might help the game over the finish line. ...And maybe your constructive ideas might start something new. What do we all want to be, joybringers or joykillers? Start with "I liked the game because..." or "I stayed with the game because..." and stop being mean.
