Well his old patreon post from October said that after the first few updates of Vivid: Alice he would come back to this... It still hasn't released, so probably don't expect it this year.

It should not have been marked "abandoned", it should have been marked as "On Hold".
Seeing that there was nothing about this game on patreon since Aug. 2024 is probably the reason for the abandoned tag.
Next time you put a game on hold like this get a mod to apply the tag.

Honestly, the most important rule about the abandoned tag, is that doesn't really matter. It will result in more people skipping checking out the game, but considering a game with the tag won't be anywhere near the first page on latest updates anyway, that's a reduction of an already pretty low number - it'll recover when the next update hits. People that are Patreons... already are aware of the release cadence, and quite frankly won't particularly care how our pirate site classifies the game. Which is why the hubhub about a game getting tagged with it, or people being upset about a game not yet being tagged with it despite not having recent updates... is way overblown

Yes and that is why the "case-by-case" rule is there, as long as the dev keeps f95 inform the "On Hold" tag can go for the full 18 months before the abandoned tag goes up.
