Because i thought from the comments above (and starting this whole conversation replied to that comment) that there must be some missing content and i made some crucial choices.

It seems to me that you made the right choices to get there...I made "SAVE" the choice for that spot to activate, but ended up deleting that requirement...If you click somewhere on that rectangle, yes he dies, if you click on that specific tiny circle on the right, the 4 I mentioned should live. I'll check it out tomorrow and get back to you if I made a mistake coding that thing.
