The game runs on linux with rpgm-linux just fine. Maybe you are with too new windows. Googled it and the first result is telling that you need to install

Well, with all this flattery, I had to do a bit more effort ;-), look for xp_rtp104e.exe, I cannot upload it here, but you can download it from the Internet Archive (I scanned the download with my antivirus, and seemed OK), that should be the one missing.
Should work without problems even on Windows 11, it can still run 32 bits programs (if I remember well, it is a 32 bits runtime).
Suggestion, if you see multiple versions, download the modded ones, the original had some kinks that are not everybody's taste and could not be avoided, the modded ones had them avoidable.
I had an idea of doing a kind of follow-up to it, although with a different software, even have the story in my mind (though still have to write it down) and the character, but I don't know if I will ever get to do it.

I had done long ago some test to see if and how I could do some things in ren'py about game mechanics stuff like timed choices (to discover later, that some idea about game mechanics that was new and I liked, in reality existed already in games like "Karryn's prison", though that is not in ren'py) and interface, but never got to what I would call a full demo.
I got into thinking the story for that game and a bunch of other interconnecting but not with Rachel (unless I change my mind on that), and doing and maintaning a patch for another game has allowed me to see better how ren'py works, but I would need to find the time to do the game.
For now, the only things I can give you are a three renders with Rachel as the Green Shadow (one being was an idea for the title screen of the game, but it would change a bit) - "my" Rachel is based on the one from Limpy, with a couple of modifications.
If you notice the bodysuit is thick, it is not by mistake, though its thickness can change depending on some parameters, as well as there would be other clothings for different situations. And the yellow band on the feet will not be there, not with that costume, it comes from something I have hidden but not completely.
The swords are actually the same in the three images, is just that at first I made them, then decided especially having made arrangment for how she carries them, I had to find scabbards I could adapt for the use. The lenght of the handle in the swords links to a characteristic of the swords.
Being Ren'py there would not be a "free change the clothes all the time" as in RPMG, clothes choices would be restrained/adapted to the situation and parameters - even this way, the risk is to have to make tons of renders, in itself something that can kill the efforts, the rendering time with the configuration I have is not a problem, but the preparation for each render (especailly) and the quantity can still be.
And two renders of two of the other characters that would be important in the game and to some extent would be controlled by the player, or at least, that was and would be the idea, though I may change a bit some details like color of some part of clothes (and animage show the guns, but she might not have them all the time).
If you wonder, when appearing in the game they will also appear dressed differently, depending also on the situation and how the gameplay goes, but this way I keep a bit the "mistery", though as I wrote already, I don't even know if I will ever really do the game, and I don't know how many of the possible paths, subpaths, and collateral stories I would really put in, if I try to do it and put all of them, it would probably become too big a thing.
Also, yes, I don't actually like the fact almost every game has the "Zeppelin" effect (aerostatic balloons instead of boobs :-D), yet I ended up making all of them rather big breasted (Rachel is the smaller on that side, and she still is not really small, but that was already the case in the original), I would probably reduce the second character a bit in the end, while the third has basically two missiles instead of breasts :-D, but in her case, I may decide not to reduce them - well, assuming I actually ever make the game

Nope, I did not do it now, it is part of the preparations I had made for the game, thinking some ideas, even in terms of images, and seeing if I could realistically make them with my skills and what I have available, though in some case in the meantime I installed more stuff.
If you cannot guess, and are not afraid of spoilers, look at the next ones, some elements are actually not up to date with the costume(s), but if I make the game, depending on the choices of the player and game situation, these images, or anyway, similar images a bit updated and modified, would appear in the game.
Unfortunately, I do not know how to insert an image making it hidden like a spoiler (tried the ISPOILER tag, but does not work), so, I put the images inside a 7zip file, and I am attaching it, with the descriptions for the images (in order of the name) in hidden spoiler tag.

They will be variants on the one you saw already, though it also to be remembered will be starting outfit, which means, do not expect her to be naked :-D.
I am not considering this hijacking the thread, because this is about this game, and the main public for that game would be people who played and liked this game, although it would be different in some aspects, I am still figuring out if it would be worth the investment (i.e. if there would be people interested in playing it, anyway it would be for free).
Part of the setting for mine would be that it happens a few years after Combine's, and that Rachel has to establish herself in the new place (but the place will be structured with some characteristics, as I plan to reuse it in other games) as person and supehero, including earning the necessary and required public acceptance and reaching defined results (the wording in this phrase is not casual
), and then train a new potential superhero, while interacting with situations, missions, evenments and people, some of whom may have their own agenda and behaviuor (in part and in some case under control of the player), thus helping shaping what happens and how our heroine(s) and their relations and interaction develop. Now, I apologise to the ones not interested in the possibility of a pseudo follow-up game (notice, there is also one that is kind of alternate version with an alternate Rachel made by roshi2000, you can find it here on F95, and that one is well advanced), but here are three proposals for the starting outfit for The Green Shadow in the new game.

You should play the original (I suggest the modded version from Limpy, the latest modded version of the original (since it was deemed lost, I provide the hosting for the file through a free mega account since quite some time already, link in the OP), or the MZ port (though I am not sure if it is complete and debugged yet or not) - I am not sure if in the MZ port there have been also some images/actions added up.
After, the "alternate universe" version of Roshi2000 (there is a separate thread for that) - it is not complete yet, but it is quite advanced and can give you already some play time.
Continue following it up till when it is complete, and maybe - maybe - by then there will be a start of something that can be played at least a bit, a "demo", or even an alpha, the way I mean it, for my game.
I worked in software, so I know that a "demo" strictly speaking does not require to be playable to any extent, but in this context, if it is done by me, I would not put out anything unless there is at least a start of a basic play (like, most of the basic blocks used later to build the story and actions already somehow working, and at least the introduction and some content that allows to see all the main controls is there).
I had this idea and developed the main elements some base element of the story long ago (something like 2021), even had an idea for a possibility of interaction that I thought was original - except discovering later there is another game, "Karryn's prison", that has something similar (but story, context, platform, art/images approach are completely different), so, not as original as I had hoped
.I developed further the idea for the story, I have the main characters, some locations and other characters already made (though I may simplify or eliminate some locations or improve them), I had done some experiment with ren'py to see if and how I could do some things I wanted to get in terms of visualisation, I had already written down part of the story a couple of times, and I started writing down what should be the full story for the game - the idea is that I could still change something while I implement, but I want first to have the main story and side quest mainly defined, or I would end up being dispersed.
But for now most of my F95 time is spent in few posts, and mantaining a patch for a game, though that has the advantage of having got me better understanding of the basics of ren'py.
I made a render to thank the contributors, but I have a problem with uploading to F95, when it gets around noon in my time zone (I am in Europe), it becomes impossible to upload images to F95 till the morning after (I saw this behaviour many times), it goes in time out, even if they are kind of small, like e.g. 300 KB, although I have no problems downloading even from USA or uploading even to e.g. Mega, so, I will need to upload it tomorrow morning.
EDIT: so, it turns out the problem is between around noon my time and around eight in the evening my time... Anyway, here you have the image I was mentioning, take it as a "thank you" for your contribution, and as a rough indication of the kind of rendering you could +/- expect from an eventual game (depening also on the assets and their materials, of course, though for The Green Shadow I already changed the materials, they are not the original ones, and this scene has a background and settings by default, so, no strong Sun and no strong shadows).

Check the OP. The links there are to the latest modified version. The own from Limpy was including both modifications from Suidakra and Limpy, at the time they were working somehow together on it.

Yes, at least as far as I know. There is another game being actively developed, by Roshi2000 (there is a separate thread for that), but it is more a kind of "parallel universe", although it takes inspiration from this one (e.g. Rachel is called Rachel, her hero name is "Green Shadow", there is a league of superheroes, one of the possible activities is figthing in a kind of "arena", she can appear in a TV broadcast and work in a bar).
