Okay, so have the random npc stat baseline been raised?
I keep noticing that i capture raiders and punks with 90 sciences, 100 survival, 80 charisma, 80 beauty..

I just caught some random punk dude with 123 discipline.

I captured the leader of the Silfren Mine, is he going to have a story and be a "unique" NPC later?

While he doesn't have a custom pic, his pic, name, age, mother, etc are hard coded. He also has unknown attributes like other story NPCs. However, I don't see anything in the code suggesting further content.

BTW, is there a quest associated with the mine? I just attacked when I noticed a group of enemies.

G'day Folks,

Grabbed the game and am having fun so far. There's a couple of questions I haven't been able to answer from this thread or the wiki.

How does one improve those skills not taught at the academy? Performance, stealth, and survival don't seem to have a way to "get good enough so attempting the skill allows natural growth".

Is leather sold anywhere? I've looked in all the stores I can find, but no sign of it yet.

Performance, stealth, and survival
Your own performance, stealth and survival? You don't. You can hunt to improve survival but is very little point if at all.

You make that yourself during crafting if you have the skills and module for it, from skins. You get that through hunting.

Yet hunting depends on survival and mine is 10. So if I want leather I need to successfully hunt, but hunting results suck because survival is at minimum and can't be improved save through successful hunting...

Not exactly. You see you get a big bonus if you bring a wild-born follower. Bring 4 of those. Lauren has the Jaeger trait which adds further +20 bonus.

Bring slaves or mercs with the Wild-Born trait and decent survival traits along with you on hunts, their survival skills will aid you.

As for stealth, I think it's possible to train it picking up the Boneclaw dung in the lair, but don't quote me on that, because I'm not sure if it's only on critical rolls or what.

Point being, no reasonable method of training stealth.

I think there are also stealth increases from stealing in the Westside Assembly Plant but that's genuinely rare.

I know Performance can be raised by carousing at Dockgraves.

Yeah for MC it improves your chance of success at hunting, but the main reason to do it is actually for your NPC scavengers. They get a bonus to scavenging output at 60 survival, and a further boost at 60 intelligence. So I train up everyone with the scavenger trait to 60 survival and 60 intelligence. Rifle Savant is a bit of an exception since it's too hard to train his intelligence.

You can donate the meat and skins you get to the bandits for a chance at raising standing with them but I think that is capped at around 15 or something. So you're going to have to donate mountains of swords and assault rifles if you want any real progress with them.

Hunting can train it to 40, collecting baneclaw dung can go beyond 40 but I'm not sure how high. There's currently not much point to stealth though. It improves your chance of avoiding ambushes but there aren't that many of those to deal with anyway, mostly just the Highwaymen if you like fighting those guys. The only other use for it that I know of is I believe it affects your chance to pick locks. How many of those are there in the game? 2? 3? Can't remember but not very many.

stealth and survival both rise from hunting and if you want to cheat you can refresh page till you get good results also you can upgrade it at least I did when you choose stealth options in during quests.

I'm early enough in the game that my only follower is the tutorial guy (Ansel?). Base cash flow is fine, but hiring other mercs is a bit daunting. I haven't checked the few captives I've acquired -- I'll start checking to see if they have useful traits before selling them.

Loren cost: $200 ($20/day)
Jack cost: $150 ($22/day)

You hire the two wixx children.
Laika cost: $0 ($5/day)
Loden cost: $0 ($5/day)

They are all wild-born. The two children can be found at Kesey Park in the temple. DON'T investigate further. Just hire the two kids and leave.

P.s.: Loren ask less money than Simple Jack. It's kinda crazy :PogChamp:

2) Does anyone know how to increase the number of troops at Fort Sera & the mines through the console?
I assume you want to increase workers and not guards in the mines.

Sera: SugarCube.State.active.variables.faction.warlord1.men = 10000
Kahill: SugarCube.State.active.variables.mch.yardslot10.other5 =75
Silfren: SugarCube.State.active.variables.mch.yardslot11.other5 =75

SugarCube.State.active.variables.mch might be helpful in general!

Why did UI for npc menu changed? Now it's impossible to jump to any page :WaitWhat:

Oh wait, it's in the settings, for some reason it was not the default

It just says undefined for me. The commands work afterwards but then nothing in game seems to change.
I've tried modifying this to remove a feminist trait but it doesn't work despite console log telling me it was done. What am I doing wrong? I just copied and pasted the full thing and changed the last to console.log("Cheat shortcuts added. Examples:\naiko.traitfem = -100")

Assuming it works like just directly editing the save file you want traitfem = 0, not -100.

No, that doesn't work either. How do I directly edit the save file? Tried loading in notepad++ but I only get a string even when the language is set to html.

Edit: Broke down and used savegame editor. That works.
