Hey, i just started and this game is amazing. Played it so much yesterday i had a dream about it lmao. Anyway i have a few questions: What is merchandise for? Can i sell gear? And what's the most efficient way to raise my and my follower's combat stats?
use it to get materials or sell it, as for stats, fighting raise it well when it come to it, but there are classes and the possibility to train them, all depends on what you want to raise

Merchandise can be processed into materials for crafting, gifted (Muslim temple in Procoms) or sold.

You can sell gear, at the market in the "home" area.

Combat stats can be trained at home or you can assign people to an Educator set to train physical/combat stats.

You could also assign followers to the Arena, but that's definitely not most efficient.

Additionally Melee and Ranged combat can be increased through crits (5% chance) in combat. Also Strength can be increased through melee combat, for the player at least.

Hey guys a little help here? Who is Mr. Tillingast? Then I'm arranging event - dinner, I can invite Abbot Roo, Tim Walton, and the third man Mr. Tillingast is grey out. Who is he, and where I can find him?

IIRC he's technically one of your neighbours, but he's not really in the game.

The button to invite him is just left over from way back when some stuff was done and plans changed.

Maybe the option will be added, or removed, somewhere down the road when the dev feels like it.

Ok so i already have Astrid work in the Golden Dragon as a dancer, and now i bought Borsow girl who's also a dancer and i already did her quest. Is it better to sell her from a min-max perspective? (obv im not gonna do it, just asking) or is there a way to somehow have 2 slaves work same job somehow? Because if not she's basically useless? or am i missing something? (once again, talking from a purely min-maxing perspective, i dont plan to actually sell her or anything)

If you have your own tavern you might consider putting her to work there as an entertainer/dancer.

I capture people as a result of combat. I can find no way to do anything with them and they only show up as slaves in my Followers "Support" list. How do I sell these people? The wiki say I should have a way to dispose of them at home, but I see nothing, and taking them to slave market shows nothing. And I've hit "Max captured slave capacity reached!"

Exit your home. You can then process them while in North Redhaven

It's done a bit weirdly. Go to the home DISTRICT, not home-home, and then click the "Inspect Captured Slaves" button. You can process them there.

I only have two data points so take this with a grain of salt, but running a late game on my fairly new computer and my very old computer (Firefox on both) I see very different lag times on end day.

I refuse to use Edge but now I'm tempted to try Chrome and see if the end day is different there...

Edit to add: "late" for me still means under two years game time and about 100 NPCs in my house. I know some people here go much further.
"I refuse to use Edge"
Yeah, can't stand it myself (another longtime Firefox user).
And I assume everyone (with Windows) got this - but I just loved how it automatically downloaded Edge to the hard-drive & tried to make it the default browser.

There are a few things you can do with merch. You could just sell it. You can use a workshop to break it down into components. Or my personal favorite, just donate it to the Islamic church for standing. Once you get their standing up around 5-10 they'll start paying you passive income and that will ramp up indefinitely the more merch you give them. It's not a huge amount of income unless you have a crazy number of perfectly trained scavengers but IMO it's better than selling it directly and I would rather have my workshops produce production points to build swords/rifles/etc.

You can sell in Redhaven at the market, or in the shops around town. You can also take the ferry to Hannah Bay and get better prices for the stuff they buy there.

Once you decide who you want your primary combat team to be you will probably want to train at home with them as followers. You can train both melee and ranged that way up to 120 for followers and 130 for MC. You get bonuses if you have a dojo in your yard. You can also just randomly gain points from combat and that ramps up all the way to 150, but it's slow (especially for ranged). So I prefer to train ranged up to 120 as soon as I've got my stamina to a reasonable level. Higher skill improves both your chance to hit AND your damage. If you do a lot of capturing with whips then melee will go up fairly quickly with or without any training so I frequently don't bother training that at all.

Also if you're a new player I would HIGHLY recommend getting the Aim implant from the doctor's office once you unlock Crystall Hills. That makes MC pretty much guaranteed to hit with ranged even if your ranged skill sucks. It does not improve damage though (tested with and without at 150 ranged, zero difference).

Thanks -- I see the icon to process slaves and that worked.
If this wasn't clear, you can also auction them from you household if you add them when you process them. Go to Actions and Watery Eyes and Crystal Heights should be in the list on the left. You can auction them there and sometimes (most of the time) get much more money for them.

Plus if you add them to your household you can check for useful traits. Eventually you can also send them to mines, farms, etc.

Edit the html to remove the ludicrous 1600 strength, (but brace yourself the fight against the apc is even worse)

alternativelely you need to go in with a full killsquad composed with Clea Vallas and Ayden Rhoades... equiped with HULC armours, plasma rifles and both "master tactician" and "master of war" perks, then only if RNG allow you will be victor.

Grim just outright hate fun.

I actually found the palace fights a lot of fun. You certainly need to prepare for them though.

It's best to buy hulk armor before you do it. You can also get 2 Cyber Cannons before you do it which are pretty helpful (1 is free if you decipher the right clue, the other you buy on the mastersphere). In addition it helps a lot if you have Master Tactician and Master of War as well as 130-150 melee and ranged skill and max strength on everyone. You should also get health implants for everyone.

You want to use Cyber Cannons and Plasma to reduce soak on the heavily armored targets and great axes against anything with no armor. I haven't done the palace fights in awhile but if there are any super high dex melee types you are better off with ranged against those because some of those are tough to hit even with 150 melee, but not with high ranged.

You might also want to get the occult powers first. One of them is a heal that is a free action during combat. The palace fights were quite doable before the occult powers existed though. In fact the first time I did it, I screwed up and saved AFTER starting the rebellion, and BEFORE I bought any Hulk armor or the cyber cannon from the master sphere. So I had to do it with plasma and duraplate. That was my only save that run. My first attempt... Did not go well...
