Is there a cap on how much you can increase Performance through training the Dancing Skill (for example, if it's 90+), and/or does the chance decrease if it's above a certain value? The wiki says there should be roughly a 50% chance to increase Performance by 1 point on a successful Dancing Skill upgrade session, but while teaching Dancing to Stormchild (who lucked into 90 Performance), I noticed it didn't increase once over the course of a few days; and even testing it by reloading didn't seem to result in an increase either.

I'm a bit curious as to what I should use mercenaries for when slaves don't have the daily money upkeep. Are they just early game fodder then or are there unique things for them all like Loren? Should I marry Loren to nix her daily pay? Can she pass on traits to offspring giving me more Jaeger trait NPC's?

Or should I just keep the uniquely useful ones like Loren around and send the rest to guard my mines? I know Ansel did the tutorial quest and Bud has a hidden quest but I haven't seen anything from the rest. They seem like expensive slaves.

Also found some stuff called Revital but I can't use it from my inventory. How do you use it?

Revital: NPC MENU > INVENTORY > ACCESSORIES > Use Revital

Personal opinion about mercenaries: How much and how long someone uses mercenaries depends on the player's choices, not much else. Like you already hinted at you can keep them if you like or let them go knowing you can hire them again without too much problems.
I myself use mercenaries quite sparingly if at all. I am just quite careful during the game start and try to remember which battles I need to avoid until I have trained my MC & his (female) slaves and bought the best available gear for the team. Takes more time this way, but I do not need to race trough the early days and I enjoy doing things slow anyway.
I liked Loren as she was written during the "old good days" when mercs were still mercs and not issids. :)
Later Loren started to behave a little bit differently - in my opinion - so I never married her or made her pregnant either. Thus I can't say from my own experience whether she passes her traits to kids or not. I just assume that might happen.

The reason to hire mercenaries is that they're uniques with unique scenes. You gotta catch 'em all, you know ;)

Though the only male mercenaries I hire are Ansel and Connor, to access unique girls.

There's not enough room for the rest of them.

Try using Revital on a slave through Applicants.

About the low level merc. Most of them have a nice niche in your household once that they are no more useful as mercenaries.

Anselm, Bud, Mr Doyle, Jack The Peasant and Kile the Rifle Savant all of them come with the trait Scavenger. A scavenger with this trait brings to your home, per day, 3 extra merchandise + 1/15 of Durasteel +1/15 of tendistim and 1/15 of Energy Cell. Well worth his 5 to 25$ salary

Plus Jack made a good Foreman for the Zappin fields (he have a high Gardening and Discipline) and Mr Doyle it´s the best bartender, and if you get him with the trait Techie he can be assigned to the Academy as a Professor and be keep for your Techy Team, when you have a mission that requires to deal with hacking doors.

Enya it´s a very solid option to be send to the Arena, and a standing member of your Techy Squad. She can also be (not sure but you have chances, work alcoholic and Nymphomaniac) so he can fit the role of normal Slavemaster of Slavemaster to your female slaves to increase corruption and remove vanila traits

Aiko also have granted the Techy trait, and it´s one of the most polivalent characters. Head Maid, Slave Master, Workshop Worker, Nurse, Performer...May be not oustanding in any of this roles, but she can plug the hole.

May be the weakest early merc its Loren. She increase your meat and hides yield if you go hunting (+20% chance and +30% yield) and can have the work alcoholic trait and the Nympho Trait, but if you don´t go hunting and she don´t get any of this traits she don´t bring anything special to the table. But hey!, she is not high maintenance (20$ per day only).

And last but not least, Dexter Colt. He is not fish of fowl, being the most expensive of the low level merc by far at 140$ per day, but he can increase your stats if you expend time with him and he have granted Crackshot and Techy. In my current run, right out of the box he have Science 110, Academics 70, Admin 50, and 113 hit with a not so great Strengh and Stamina (65 and 70), so he can be send stright to teach to the Academy, make a decent foreman and, if you train him can perfectly be in your Elite Squad and, if you don´t train him, he will be for sure one of your more solid choices for your Techy Squad.

All this said, this can change radically with the new Educator role that will replace the old Slavemaster trait.job

The uppermost tier of mercs (Clea, Milou, Einar maybe) are stronger than anyone outside of Cassius, Aaron, and Truls. Kate too. I'd argue Milou with minigun is beaten only by Cassius.

Ayden comes pre-built to be Quartermaster and captain of the guard for a new player. Or a Nurse. And he has the RPG event with his Spend Time option. It's only a one time increase in Intelligence though.

Aiko starts with decent medicine, making her a solid Nurse for the early game, for how cheap her cost and upkeep is. Until you have a surplus of $0 salary Nurses, why not keep her.

Can she pass on traits to offspring giving me more Jaeger trait NPC's?
No.

Or should I just keep the uniquely useful ones like Loren around and send the rest to guard my mines? [...] They seem like expensive slaves.
If you are short on money, dismiss them. Otherwise, their salary is like a drop in the bucket the more established and built your house and income stream are.

is there any 3some scenes?
There IS already one and has been quite a long time. Miss Leia Winton's case that starts when the MC takes professor Nadarian Wolf's course and proceeds to the quest named Prowler In The Depths (IIRC). There is also a possibility of some other excitement while solving the case of miss Winton's disappeared brother than just the good chance to end in 3some and finally enslaving miss Winton, I tend to recall.

Is it possible to complete the New World Order quest without selling Aria and helping her with the rebellion?

¿selling Aria to complete the new world Order quest?

AFIK you CAN NOT sell Aria if you want to complete the New world Order. And you must help her with the rebelion. It´s what the quest it´s about

you can also manipulate mercenaries into slavery to remove their pay if they are male or you don't want to marry them. ammo pack needs $100+ upkeep to function tho, with the exceptions of einar if you have a tier 3 soldier background and bud

unique npcs often have special traits or benefits random npcs can't get like ammo pack. grim could also always give them more uses in the future, so i'd dismiss the non-random ones to wandering around instead of removing them from the game entirely if you don't want them.
here's a list of the special benefits i know of male npcs with upkeep having:
  • ansel motte: large bonus (+35) to barkeeper job, many benefits to doing his quests
  • armand blackford: large bonus to accountant job (shared by adrienne), 10% bonus to the value of sold slaves while in your employ with 60+ affection
  • ayden rhoades: guard value bonus, unique trait that gives +45 bonus to first coilgun shot every combat, special crackshot and ammopack traits
  • bud walton: unique variation of the ammo pack trait that requires less upkeep to function to an extent
  • connor sunderland: guard value bonus, his quest unlocks access to his wife and daughter as unique npcs, special ammo pack trait, unique loyalty trait if you complete his quest and don't cuck him TOO hard
  • dexter colt: special crackshot trait, skill bonuses from spending time with him
  • doyle bekker: guard value bonus, large bonus (+35) to barkeeper job
  • einar corso: special ammo pack and brawler traits, slightly cheaper ammo pack upkeep if your own character has a tier 3 soldier background
  • felix donnerschlag: guard value bonus, special ammo pack and brawler traits
  • special brawler trait. cheap enough upkeep that you can make your money back by assigning him to scavenging, which he gets a rare trait bonus to
  • kyle "rifle savant" scantell: special crackshot trait, barely noticeable upkeep
  • samuel spartan: guard value bonus, special ammo pack trait
i personally don't keep dexter, felix, or samuel, but i keep the others around.

i think this is referring to slavemasters of raana as well. they don't want to help the rebellion or sell her to kymanto, but want content unlocked in NWO like clea vallus.

to answer their question: nope, only the rebellion route is finished.

i am hoping there will be an option to do the other route without corrupting aria or selling her (i prefer all my slaves to have no willpower or corruption), but so far i have only seen grim or members or the discord mention being able to get aria back in a later update. fingies crossed tho!

In that case, does it make sense to not touch this quest now?

Grim has not mentioned a middle path in recent months and I have not heard of one being implemented. So just caution on having expectations there.

Just started playing around with the game, and I really like how much exploration and experimentation is involved.

One of the things I got to doing, once I had a good enough team, was "farming" the local bandits. Making about 2000 per fight from knocking them out is the best income I can find early on, and I'm wondering.. is it possible to "depopulate" the game?

I'm almost out of the local bandits, which is fine, but it'll be a bummer if I eventually kill everyone on all these maps (judging by a lot of the mechanics, the game seems designed to be played over the course of years worth of turns). Is there anything that adds new enemies over time?
