Thats a bug but not due to the gun.
If you dont invest, there are no buttons to back out.
All the buttons are disabled.
No idea if anyone reported it.

This seems like a serious bug but I cannot reproduce it myself (General Store in Redhaven). And first time I've heard about it. What steps exactly produces this glitch?

Hmm how about a unique cheat weapon? A variant of the cane that makes the target submit in one hit.
A sure fire way to acquire unique NPCs in tough fights.

You can achieve that by having max strength and melee combat and using cane tho

Walk into the store with enough reputation to invest. Not sure if it matters if you have the money or not.
Dont invest. All buttons are disabled so you cant leave. There is no exit. Even debug menu is disabled.

It only happened if you chose not to invest or didnt have the money. I was like $100 short when I did it.
And all buttons were disabled so you could not leave.

I didnt try. I loaded a second window, loaded a save from immediately before, and continued playing.
It was a literal dead end with every button disabled.
It didnt seem like an issue to me. It was avoidable by having the correct amount of money.
I probably save 30 times a day. I saved right before I went to invested so I lost 15 seconds of play time.
