Is there a good way to hold large dinners or take your followers to dinners without making everyone fat?

Everyone's always more or less full since they auto eat so on matter when I hold dinners they get glutted, is the only way to turn down rationing and starve people?
pool parties are a better more reliable way to increase happiness and affection for your whole household vs dinner parties. Requires a gazebo with the pool upgrade.

Yeah but the pool is capped at loving (75 affection). Right now, you want to get as high as 116+ Affection because any affection below 116 has a chance to decay by -1 per midnight.

Ideally you use both.

I wiped out the tribals from the Preacher Pond but the German Caravan and Straalsund Caravan still giving me $105 and $50 respectively. After wiping out the Tribals this should increase right?

Straalsund is giving me $25/day because I have not cleared the Tribals.

So only $25 extra for wiping out 75 Tribals?
Yup. But there is a hidden benefit. Both the Barrow and the Kelsey Park caravans contribute a 5% chance for +1 Prosperity / day. That's the main benefit really. Later on prosperity is not an issue but for a while this can be helpful.

I've been playing for approx. 500 game days in 2 weeks, and I must say this is not just one of the best games on this forum, this is a top notch game when compared against the overall gaming industry. One particular game I can compare Masters of Raana with is A Dark Room, especially with regard to the captivating world atmosphere and intrigue—of course, Masters of Raana's amazing amount of pictures with very good art direction, as well as its large amount of questlines and roleplaying freedom makes it stand out in comparison.

I wanted to share several thoughts and questions which are mainly in-universe; sorry if they were already tackled before, I must admit I wasn't able to read through all the 700+ pages of this thread.

1. Languages and names. What languages are spoken on Raana? Several Japanese loanwords said by Aiko (and Russian, by Nika) and the way the caravaneer speaks suggest that English (or, rather, 25th century English with some translation conventions applied) is indeed spoken in Ikaanos (the default assumption), but other languages are spoken as well.

If so, the question is, where do the names like Raana, Ikaanos, Haalu come from? They sound quite unusual and while they are certainly "cool" when you just start playing (and easy to Google which is also a plus), in-universe, one starts to wonder about their origin. If it were just the planet name, that would be fine, the planet could have been named by an astronomer using any number of mythological or other obscure origins. But those double-As throughout several names look like they are names in a non-English, perhaps local language, but who are those "locals"? they can't be the monkeys, right? or can they?

Also, what language(s) are spoken by the tribals? Words like "tuwa"—are they in their language? Was it a language that evolved among the First Wavers? What Earth language(s) did it descend from?

2. How come that the Raanic people, with their technology being all over the place, with the Mastersphere and space travel and plasma guns and computers, rely exclusively on horses for transportation? I remember something in one of the questlines saying about gas (or lack thereof), but there are be other options, hell, even steam-powered trucks (maybe not cars) can be used in a pinch; or electric, if we're talking a bit more advanced tech.

3. What exactly is Project Erebos doing? They want prowlers, but also girls. The Project Erebos entry on the wiki is suspiciosly blank. Maybe Prof. Hornell (my char) shouldn't have sold that girl to the Project, after all—he's a nice guy...

normal, you're fucking his wife and daughters and I'm sure you also got them pregnant
He doesn't care if you fuck his wife and daughters and doesn't care if you get his daughters pregnant. I'm guessing he doesn't care if you get his wife pregnant either but I haven't tested that. What he does care about is if you fuck his wife enough to remove her relationship trait. That is probably why he hates him.

Connor will be getting a wife and daughter soon as well and from the news on discord it sounds like Connor will be a bit less happy with that arrangement than Gregory.

I would imagine that the situation is that each of the ethnic communities have their own original language that they use at home with English acting as the lingua franca. At least in theory. In practice however , due to centuries of intermingling both back on Earth and planetside the different languages have become heavily influenced by one another both in terms of loanwords and grammar changes. So you end up with something like the language spoken by Anime nerds that has Japanese words thrown in.

And that's before we figure in the natural evolution of language in general. This game is after all set in the 2500s. If we go back 500 years people were still speaking Middle English.

Until the most recent affection changes pool parties plus Party Animal were pretty much an auto pick for me to manage household affection. It's not really very effective anymore since pool parties cap at loving affection and everyone below 116 or so affection is going to constantly degrade down to friendly or lower affection.

So IMO the better option is to pick people up at a slower pace and use a combination of dinner parties and bondage fuck sessions to boost people to 116 or more affection before picking anyone else up. That means you'll make significantly faster progress with the girls than you will with the guys but once you get them that high in affection then you don't have to worry about them anymore. I don't even build a gazebo anymore, and I also don't take Party Animal anymore.

You can also use encourage and compliment but I don't know what the cap is for that since I usually forget to use them.

It's also worth prioritizing any feminists you pick up since they will be actively working against you until you corrupt them.

I would say the affection change also makes the sex implant significantly more useful than it used to be since with that you can really work the girls over every day. Without it you can't fuck as many girls every day.

About affection and happiness of slaves:

I am starting to think folks play this great game in quite complicate ways. While many kinds of whips, implants, dildos, torture- and corruption-stuff sound mighty cool and fine, those kinda feel a bit much for such a very old-fashioned and more than a little backward player like me.
My MC just lifts the girls' (no male-slaves in my household, usually) allowances to a moderate levels. 1000... 10000 RD:s fx. seem to suffice, since I have seen no serious complaints after that.
A few nice words every now and then, arranging parties and feasts every other night doesn't bother them too much either. Only Aria kept nagging about dinners at first. She seemed to think that many, many families would have lived on the money or something like that. She stopped nagging after her willpower dropped below zero, so everything is peaceful and nice atm.
Sounds pricey? Nah, it's worth it, I think. In case my MC feels he's running out of money, he sets the tavern going again for a short while and the threat of poverty is gone.
And in case there, against all odds and despite allowances, starts to appear complaints? Well, there are mines for complainers, accidents happen, some girls could get suddenly sold and so on. Simple and efficient, methinks.

Something it´s wrong with the men from Fort Serra and the rebel outpost.

If you give them one man, that gives you 150 standing
If you give them a batch of 10 men, that gives you 700 influence, (70 influence per men)
If you give them a batch of 25 men, that gives you 1000 influence (40 per men)

It is a bug or it´s working as intended?

i heard the slave quality did affect it too, maybe you give them a good quality slave?

i though the caravaneer speak german? i dont know it actually speak old english since i am not native of both, i am qurious what they actually say though.

in my opinion i think the name come from the first waver since they develop their own language, and second waver did absorb several first waver tribe there to create ikaanos.

i remember there some revolt during the space travel and basically the spheremaster monopolize the limited earth technology while many generation later the second waver in the planet forgot how to make such technology since spheremaster hoard them all in their space ship, also terrain and climate did play a role of technology development since the planet are full of jungle and plenty of swamp with hostile lifeform, the maintenance alone are hazardous. for truck i assume it will limiting them to only work in the surrounding town since they will need to create solid road to travel and the swamp and jungle are a bitch for that or risk sinking down since the only thing that truck can contest are it can contain more loads of goods, meanwhile for horse carriage if it sink you can abandon the carriage and move the goods to the horse or mule and move on, require less maintenance and probably cheaper since the wagon are likely majorly made of wood which is plenty in jungle environment though not so for the horse, and probably get heavy tax too for such advance technology. or maybe they dont discover or invent steam power yet or know to use it as power source, since if we look at our own history steam power are known since antiquity but only developed during industrialization or early modern period and even then get quickly replace with oil power engine due to many reason iam not expert to say. also if i remember correctly there exist oil but it contain hostile lifeform even space marine squad or army cant beat it, also if i remember correctly they more need oil as lubricant for their power plant engine or machine since the powerplant already working in nuclear power hence the deforestation by one of criminal family or the industrial tycoon to extract lubricant oil from native plant.

Hi All!. I tried using the cheat console to raise my influence. I copy-pasted the code snippet into the console, and tried 'Influence: 100000' . Nothing changed. Am I missing something?

The colon is wrong. If you want to cheat at least learn a bit about what a variable is. Those get either set by using an equal sign or by adding/subtracting to the current value. There are standard ways to do that as well.
