Personal opinion :
It's so annoying for me to see a quest locked behind paywall, and that's the only reason i always looking for someone to drop t4, just to unlock the quest.
I mean it's a HTML game after all, i can simply cheat using console command but knowing that there's more quest always bother me. i hope the dev just simply erased the quest in public version instead so it didn't stay in my mind.
The thing is, i don't mind if it's just one time purchase, but i'm in the poor gang who can't afford 25$ monthly sub.
The dev doesn't erase the supporter quest stuff in public version because that would screw over those who supported him before but are now on the public version.

The dev has made it so that if you start any quests on the tier2+ versions and then switch to public versions later, all your supporter stuff is kept in your save. So if you want to make it a one-time purchase thing, or just want to support occasionally, the dev has made sure you can do it and keep the benefits later.

It is a smart arrangement, good for everybody.

Also, the brother quest is a tier2 ($5) benefit.

That doesn't seem to be the case either. That would be a fixed roll where it would only depend on your stats and not the NPCs.

This is a roll I made and if that was the case it would mean I had -59 manipulation which isn't the case.
Less dice roll is better.
That's probably what brings most of the confusion.

So there's a probability of success. It is itself based on relevant factors (most notably your relevant skill, obviously - but possibly others too).
Then goes dice roll between 1-100. Think of it as a negative modifier to the said probability. Therefore, the less the "malus" - the better.
It's actually very convenient, since you can right away estimate the probability of success by straight up adding together the Dice value and Result value.

Take a look at this. It's the same exact action roll, made by reloading the save.

Following what I said, add it up:
1) 80 - 25 = 55
2) 75 - 20 = 55
3) 2 + 53 = 55
Meaning, it's 55% chance of success for me, based on my Charisma skill (and hell knows what else, if anything).
Rolls above 55 will fail and vice versa.

There's also a critical success on 1 - as I understand, you are always successful if you happen to roll 1. So you seem to always have that 1% probability, no matter what.

Sometimes it's impossible to fail, then this will look like this:
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
Even though the roll is 95, as you can see I'm so loaded here that the dice has no bussiness whatsoever, no matter what is it.

Conversely, in your case, it seems it's essentially impossible to succeed (negative 59% chance) and you should not waste time and think of a different approach.

Take note that, apparently, some rolls may work differently - specific example would be a training roll. There, the more is the better (at least the last time I checked). If there are many of such instances and where - I've no idea, never bothered to place a ruler to it. The point is that there's at least one such case, but generally I think it works as above.

Already made progress seemingly is not lost, but you have to BE on the relevant Tier to progress, otherwise it's blocked.

I'd happily buy MoR for 25$, but giving away monthly to "be kept in a loop" is a whole different story, let's be honest here.

Does anyone know what Caitlin's quest "The Blind Hunt" is and how to complete it? Thank you
Once you get Caitlin from the market, raise her affection to friendly and ask about her background.

If you ask about her background before you're at friendly with her, she will tell you a bit, but there will be a message that you have to raise her affection to learn more.

You will have to go through her full background story, then the quest will autostart. You will get a notification that the quest has started, then just follow the instructions in the journal to complete it.

The general rule for most scripted girls is that to start their personal quests you have to raise their affection some and ask about their background or hopes and dreams.

That is actually the case - as OneMoreZoner mentioned (edit: and I beat him by a mere 10s answering your post haha).

Start the quest and pick up Mrs. Dunham on a Tier2 ($5)+ version. After that, you can pause the quest if you want and continue later with "The Last Relative" and talk to/add Stacey on a public build. Same goes for Chapter 5 once it's implemented.

The $10+ tiers give you early access and a cheat/debug menu but they have nothing to do with unlocking actual in-game content.

Oh that absolutely is the case. This might be surprising as many devs don't do it this way, but most devs don't make games like this either.

On the whole, Grimdark has handled whatever unspeakable things the naughty children good people on this forum have tried to do to his game with remarkably good humor. ;)

Dialogue window.

This seems to be a point of contention.

Note that to discuss brother with her, you have to build a certain level of relationship, which means playing(as opposed to some click done instantly), which effectively means either being on a certain version or jumping between them. Which was the point.
This is where I was coming from and you can clearly see it's not in my imagination.

But leaving that behind.
You're saying that after I proceed from here(talk with her), such roadblocks won't really be the case - neither with Stacey?

If that's the case and I built my impression around this outlier, then I apologize; you would be right of course.

But then it shouldn't be as demonstrated above, no?

Edit: here's with journal open

That's the stage at which you wouldn't be able to progress on public.

Yeah sorry I was a bit unclear in my original post. Pick up Miss Dunham and start the quest. After that you're free to continue The Last Relative at your own leisure on either a public or tiered version.

On a slightly related, but totally different note, why is it that I cannot take any followers to the Doc's for implants? Slaves, yes. Children, yes. Mercs, no? I would think the option to give them the health booster would be in their best interest. Hell, Ansel seems exactly like he'd be that one friend everyone has that uses you for your money. He sleeps in your basement, eats your grub, fucks your slaves, AND you pay him to shoot and/or beat up assholes? He's living the post-apocalyptic dream!

You can, at a certain affection level (probably Loving+). I have Reece at Undying affection, just tested it on this patch, and he lets me let some strangers cut him up to place funky things in there.
