It's not the "money" per se, but rather the comparison to the other factions and the money they have on treasury. And I will start by saying that maybe using the expression treasury isn't the best as a whole. Or, the houses just have way too much money. In MoR, 1 million is already a lot of money and we have some houses sitting on hundreds of million in treasury. It would make sense if it was "assets" or "value" (but then we would probably need another variable for the treasury since that is the one we "donate" to. But for example, if we take down the Carozza family, we literally get nothing and they are (according to the game) sitting on about 76million in treasury. They can get an army with that money. But that is why I kind of don't like that aspect of the economics. If they are "worth" 76million and have 1 or 2 in the safe, it would be a lot more realistic. Just like the Metasphere doesn't have 5.5 (American) billion in "cash". They have power, they have assets, they have financial gains (taxes, protection money and other streams of income) but that much cash is totally unrealistic.Yes we all know what you mean.
So much possibilities in the morning...
As for the rest,
i am all for more option.
But..
Finding a balance for the economy in a post-apocalyptic game is difficult.
Personally, I'd rather not find myself amassing insane amounts of money in a world where survival is the primary focus for many. In this kind of game, becoming rich should be based more on power than on currency.
This is just my opinion.
And since I don't have any real experience with the game yet, I'm still very much in the discovery phase.
Perhaps it makes more sense to accumulate large sums of money later in the game.
Again, I'm open to any option, as long as it remains consistent with the world we're in.
But OK, having a positive stream of 5.5k each day is a profit of 2 million per year, provided we don't invest in anything. And those other factions have had time to consolidate their position and investments over many years or centuries.
But factions like the Caliphate make sense, the Rebels have no money and it makes sense.
Even "power" is kind of debatable. I don't think (and that is my interpretation of the lore) that the Republic has that much power in terms of soldiers or even weaponry. What they have is the doomsday weapons on the Metasphere. But I can accept that the power value also reflects those weapons. But I also think they have too many soldiers in the game/lore. Their numbers should be no lasgers than 5.000 (or I could maybe argue even less than 2k), given that they have far superior weaponry and soldiers. As this type of utopian society goes (at least in my mind) the top faction (in this case the Republic) either has largely superior numbers and lesser weaponry or less small numbers and hugely better gear (as is the case). Plus, it's an elite and one of the keys to keeping and elite functioning and in power is a tight group of people, not a huge populace.
