Such a damn shame this was abandoned, hopefully some rich people Sue unity for their dumb ass decisions and force them to redact their changes... but I'm not holding my breath.

Would be great fo future projects sadly wont bring this dev back.

For those wondering about possible abandonment, according to Patreon they're on hiatus for the time being. They paused their membership until September 4 2024, so it's entirely possible they're working out development issues or that'll be when they officially cancel the project. For now it seems to be up in the air with different statements and reports saying different things.

Well, according to latest news, unity shiteaters taken their shit back. And the question is - will the development continue?

i will requote the Twitter post: "It really sucks to develop a game while also hoping the release won't bankrupt you. I just.... lost all my spirit in developing this game because of the engine's fee. It'd be great if Unity reverse their decision but I'm never coming back." so most likley NO

Godot makes it incredibly easy to switch from unity... What a shame. I feel like with taking patron money you have an obligation to at least try instead of letting them kill your project.
You FUCKING kidding me?
Godot has a much more vertical learning curve, especially since must can be done with assets in Unity. You literally have to program 95% of everything manually in Godot. And a lot of it is fucking Javascript.

I guess the dev can't read then. The developer's fee was scrapped a while back.

Just a note to generally answer all the latest comments, and those still following this thread and hoping for a comeback. The dev abandoning the game "due to unity" is most likely just an excuse, or at least not the only factor.

Unity's runtime fees (which were dropped a month later, the recent news 1 year later are related to Unity 6) affected only really big devs and companies (those making 1mil a year), moderately big devs (those making 200k a year) only had to pay 1500 dollars to upgrade to Unity Pro and be totally fine (which is still required anyway if you're making that much yearly).

Not saying it was impossible for him to reach that much, he is/was clearly quite talented, but there were (and currently are) much bigger Unity games which have never abandoned and were nowhere close to hit the runtime fees still.

I won't answer to "but unity is still bad" replies (if any) as I do not want to go off-topic on this thread, but just wanted to say it's very unlikely that the dev will resume this project only because Unity 6 also dropped the runtime fees.

..Yea... The thought that it was being used as an out crossed my mind. Just a convenient exit strategy for a genre that seems cursed to never deliver.

You know what? Fine. Hentai breeding games suck anyway. Who even wants to play that garbage? Apparently not the developers since every time we are close to getting a new one, the project usually ends up keeling over and dying.
