In the third version, I will clarify the confusing plot threads from the previous two iterations, primarily focusing on events unfolding between MC and Pandora—we will see thatPlayed 0.2 reset and was pleasantly surprised. Graphics are fantastic, yet translation is still a bit off and therefore plot is somewhat difficult o understand. Otherwise, great game.
Honestly, Im sorry—the truth is, these updates are so short that I keep trying to cram in world-building, character development, emotional arcs, and a main plot that honestly doesn’t blend well. It ends up feeling like a tossed salad of ideas that just leaves everyone confusedJust finished the game for the first time, visually the renders and animations look great, the atmosphere has an immersive feeling.
But I have absolutely no idea what the plot is or where it is going.
There are lot of elements introduced like the hunters and perception of the vigilantes and corporations controlling the city council, except it is not expanded upon and I'm not sure how they are connected to the plot. The mc team dynamics make no sense, apparently the mc is a rookie and the bank robbery his first case, except seems like the mc does all the things by himself, and in the start I'm not even sure what the vigilantes goal is , stop the robbery? Delay the robbery? then it is revealed to just apprehend one robbery and gather intel, but what is the intel for, why not just stop all the robbers, and then after gathering the intel the MC team just leaves when the robbery is still in progress. I mean the robbers are just flying off infront of them the elf takes two shots and then gives up, but she has power to open portals, and also what the heck are the MCs powers, speed? Regeneration? And also what is the deal with Nikita, she seems like royalty and is taking apart in the politics of the city (what the heck is that last scene, she gave free health care to the city? And what is her conversation with the other elf in her home, being the last descendent and getting shunned her family), so why is she part of a vigilante team, and if it's only a three person team why the heck the team leader is not leading, seems like the team leader is barely intrested in the case, and rather than just stopping the robbery they infiltrate the thugs brain and take info to catch them later, what is that?
I have no clarity regarding the political landscape of the world, what influence does the elves have, how can Nikita casually threaten the major corporations and she can buy all of them, why is she even going after petty cases, why not just buy off the corporations and rebuild the city
The writing needs a lot of improvement, there are a lot of long conversations without character or plot developments, too many elements are introduced too quickly and moved on to the next scene without further developments, and I did not still get into the dreamworld infiltration, ling seems omniscient in the dreamworld, what is the deal with bunny? And MCs dreams are cool, and it's just introduced so they will not have much context, except the storyline seems to similar to Eternum, like the leader, artifacts, and pandora's box seems like calypso, The AIs seems like trapped human souls, etc. Rather than doing proper investigation the mc team just hangs around, until the meeting, what was their goal, gather info again? And the characters do not seem like actual persons at all, one moment they are serious and the next they are all over the mc (looking at you bunny).
This was a long rant, maybe it was just me who was dumb and did not get the plot, or it is a jumbled mess of a plot with a lot of random elements, I honestly don't know after superheroes, magic, AIs, cyborgs, dreamworlds, what more can be added
I really hope the plot is more streamlined with better writing, coz with the current renders and the world introduced it can easily become one of the top AVNs, on par with Eternum.
Also please make the mommy/daddy kinks optional, not everyone is into them and there are three sliders for adjusting music, two of which are useless, I was playing with headphones and the background noise is just plain distracting, I can't turn it off without turning off the music too
but bunny very goodHonestly, Im sorry—the truth is, these updates are so short that I keep trying to cram in world-building, character development, emotional arcs, and a main plot that honestly doesn’t blend well. It ends up feeling like a tossed salad of ideas that just leaves everyone confused
Moving forward, I’m going to focus tightly on things happening around the MC. Early LI interactions will mostly be one-on-one (no group stuff for now). And I promise—Mayfly’s story isn’t going to be like Eternum or any other AVN out there. Pandora’s Box... that’s a major character you’ll meet soon
(Just FYI: The Bunny NSFW scene was requested by a high-tier sponsor. Well—it was a lot of money for me, so I tried to work it in without breaking the story. Originally, that scene was just going to be her giving the MC a warning.)
I don't know about the rest, but personally I don't find the story confusing to date. A lot of questions without answers? Yes certainly, but confusing as in WTF is this mess I'm gonna quit? Nope. So far so good for a V0.2. But I do concur that there are elements that don't blend very well now and could do with further fine tuning.Honestly, Im sorry—the truth is, these updates are so short that I keep trying to cram in world-building, character development, emotional arcs, and a main plot that honestly doesn’t blend well. I agree. I also don't see the comparison. The characters have very different backstories; different (distinct enough, anyway) personalities; events in the game aren't really the same (other than the heist, and I don't think it's all that similar TBH); etc. I actually played v0.2 of this before playing the other. At no point when playing the other did I think, "I've seen this before!" So I think the comparison is high-level at best, and it takes nothing away from the story here. I generally think it's too early in a game to be getting frustrated about what's going on. I'll wait to give my verdict on it until it's much further into the story. So far, I'm enjoying what's here.I don't know about the rest, but personally I don't find the story confusing to date. A lot of questions without answers? As for comparisons to Eternum, I'm not really sure why this gets mentioned repeatedly. Eternum is a an all rounder genre wise whereas Mayfly appears to be narrower and more niche. Could be due to the starting heist sharing similar vibes with the story arc where Orion & gang raided that tycoon. A case can also be made that there are traces of similarities in the way Mayfly characters interact with each other, but story wise these two feel very different to me.
