It's sad but it's such a thankless task unless you get to the point where the base can support you. I can appreciate him feeling that there are less stressful ways of doing things.
I know health was a factor in this case but even leaving that aside unfortunately it's so hard to make anything out of porn games that most people who are really good at it will find another outlet for their creativity.
I took a look under the hood and its pretty well made game so it wouldn't be to hard to take over you'd just have to work backwards to figure out how all the variables work together since the game had quite a bit going for it. I'm half tempted but I know its hard enough working on my own project never mind two lol. man had a lot of working in this

imo one should never approach these projects with the intention of making money... approach it as a hobby you want to do. If it manages to take off and become big enough to survive on, GREAT, but never plan on that being the goal
That's just good life advice. Never assume success, and always have a backup plan.

the proof of it is in the sheer volume of games that get 1-3 releases and the dev cries because he aint rich now and ragequits
In all honesty, I don't think trying to make money using "Real Porn" in a "porn game" is a great idea in the first place.
Feels like you'd run the risk of copyright infringement and legal issues, from "profiting off of someone else's work". I.E. The porn companies who filmed and photographed the scenes, along with the pornstars whose likeness is being used in said game, all of which is probably being used without their knowledge or consent.
So if such a game actually did become profitable, there's a risk of being sued or hit by a Cease & Desist order, or some such.
Which is why I agree, making games like these should be done just as a hobby.

I dont have a problem with people setting out a tip jar for a real porn game. But paywalling and other bs tricks yeah I agree legal bad juju. But in general the whole adult game industry, esp with twine and renpy and patreon making it so easy, is flooded. sure there will always be those games that DO make it but never EVER go in PLANNING/EXPECTING to be one of those.
its like wanting to be a rock star or actor.... sure theres those 1% that are success stories but your odds of being that 1% are shit.

As soon as you take someone's money it goes from "It's a free product, enjoy it or don't" to having some kind of responsibility toward a paying audience. That means deadlines, demands for certain content, and even just a new level of criticism you can't shake off. Like I think one of the worst things that games can do is have people vote on the next update instead of having the writer decide what actually makes sense to the ongoing narrative, but short term it gives a monetary return and makes fans feel they're getting something immediate in exchange. The whole Patreon style system is terrible for this kind of media, but it's also the only option.

I currently, find myself, clicking on different "places, and locations", and "advancing time", just trying to find something to interact with, usually, finding nothing, or no one . . . it's like searching through a "ghost town" .
Oh, yeah, also, trying to "find", these three "Ladies" :
Cory Denver, . . . been to her Bar, when you'd expect her to be there, she's not !
Elizabeth Love . . . Not sure where to find her ? . . . except at her Home ?
Kendra Winford . . . Have checked the Library, different several times , not there .
I've had a total of three interactions, so far :
perving, on a daughter, "Veronica", in the shower, ( which, really doesn't corrupt her, does it ?, didn't get a "notation"),
kissing the wife, (which got a corruption, on her ?, supposedly ),
and, having sex with Adriana, his assistant, at home, in his "office",
after more than an hour of play-time,
(after reading all that "introduction" stuff, Documents, Bills, Political Info, etc., the boring stuff ) .
Basically, is there any "meat", to the game ? or, did it not get that far . . . before it was abandoned ?

Not the only option . . . there is also "SubcribeStar", who is also, not-so-Puritanical, as Pateron .

I didn't mean just Patreon the site, but Patreon style as in subscription/donation based systems.
To answer your post above, look on the left side of the screen and it displays the faces of the women who can be interacted with at any given time. Check the journal to find specific things you need to do. The game does feel kind of empty given so many locations but if you just interact with whoever's available then that's a decent amount of content.

The game is about influencing the town by being the mayor. It involves introducing policies, seducing women, applying political pressure, stuff like that.
Not necessarily, a "useful" , goal-proceeding, interaction ;(see example below, "Bar" link );

Gained nothing from this, at all . Cory, isn't even there to interact with . Could have found that randomly .

I'm not sure what's confusing. The game holds your hand throughout. The tool for doing things is being the mayor and getting options about how to interact with characters with influence. You get weekly council meetings to make policy choices. You get events with people from the school and local businesses etc.
