The Japanese version of the game was released a long time ago; this is a re-release for the rest of the world in English.I highly doubt thats the case. You can clearly see the generic AI features and art style all over aside from inconsistency in their style on Twitter and how the patterns look all weird. Even AI detectors are saying its AI. And aside from their previous style from 2008 to 2020, with this "new art style" they are relatively a new artist with low amount of followers. I don't know how the AI that was feeding on art back in 2018 can steal from someones style who recently started using this art style this 1.5 year with only this game? Because anything before that their art style is nothing like this at all. If It was gradually changing as art I wouldve understand but nope, its a sudden jump to this style, just for this game.
It is not uncommon especially for japanese artists as most didnt care about "AI being bad" to switch to AI with touchups these days. You can find this with a few extremely popular talented artists too. (For ex: Nikke main artist)

The person sure is an artist, a good one too there is no doubt but uses AI art with touch ups that is 100% guaranteed. There can't be a single sane person that could say this isn't ai by looking at them or especially the third pic wings.
Edit: I've done even more research and comparison and used even more tools to confirm and I can 100% say they are using AI with touchups. They are heavily AI assisted for their art for this game.
Calm down, AI haters! AI creations will soon be indistinguishable from humans because they operate on the same principles. Doesn't AI create anything, it just combines? The human brain works exactly the same way.
Human beings invented dragons; they don't exist in nature. But they took a real lizard, scaled it up, and attached bat wings. They also combined their experiences, just like AI does.
A person born blind can't paint a picture, and a person born deaf can't compose music. Because the brain has nothing to combine, and it's incapable of creating something completely new.
AI is a new tool. It may be used poorly, it won't be perfect at first, but it will displace artists, just as the steel industry displaced blacksmiths. Artists won't disappear completely, but their work will change.
