Small request, but I don't know how it'd go down with everyone else;
In most RenPy games, when saving your game, it doesn't request a savegame title, but in DMD and Melody, it does. Could there be a switch to toggle this behaviour?

I'm hopeful this will be good. It seems a little odd that their reason for stopping DMD development is, we can't make money so you have to wait. I get it but it still seems a bit "scummy". Like you have your patreon back, isn't that enough?

They can't monetize dmd on patreon they are still working on it and will finish it. They need something to monetize on patreon to make ends meet. From how great Melody v0.01 played I can assure you it's not scummy at all. Many other developers in light of the recent patreon rules dropped their games altogether, that is much more scummy to me. While still very much understandable since many of them stopped working a real job to do this full time.
Wow, loved this first episode. DMD is still a favorite, but I may actually like this story line (as well as the characters) better. It will be a slower development for both projects with two games in development, but that is infinitely better than no projects in development.
Just wondering, who pissed in your salad this morning? I'm sure we will get more info as the game progresses, but she was using a vibrator not a dildo granted it can be inserted but I'm pretty sure she didnt do that. game is really nice. fairly substantial too considering he was forced over to it, also I think I saw something from him about having to get concept/scripts/etc pre-approved by Patreon review and other such crap? holy hell.
solid enough that MrD could pretty much just roll with this alone if he wanted to, and definitely enough here to mollify the Patreon gods that this is now his project. i would still love to see further efforts on DmD, but after seeing this i won't be surprised (would still be sad, really want to see it finished), if DmD gets ejected for good. =( obviously can't bite the hand that feeds you

Although I don't really want to turn this into a mini discussion.
I know they can't. However, to me, melody should be their "front". They get their income back, finish DMD, and move onto Melody. Patreon is non the wiser/can't do anything since they aren't taking money *for* DMD anymore. I highly doubt they will find an adult "patreon" but they were smart to do this so they didn't completely lose their following. I just feel like it would be a "double charge" at this point since they can't work on two things at once, they have to alternate.
Just my opinion. I didn't mean it was scummy for them to make a different game.

Cut my Patreon support for Melody but not opposed to buying "coffee" to get access to DmD.
Also you're correct, the script for Melody did have to be vetted by Patreon. Not sure if that'll apply to future updates.
I get your point. But the way I see it when they are done with DmD they will probably focus all their attention to Melody. Which from this first version seems to me actually being a better game than dmd initially was. I think they also have to update regularly on patreon which would remove the front thing bring an option. They might also get other people subscribing to their new game as well, I think this new game will being in another crowd too.

He can't even post anything in relation to this on his Patreon wall, or his own site.
It would result in a permanent ban. Plus he took a huge hit when DMD was taken down, losing
nearly 1,000 of his pledges.
So the only chance he's got to continue making DMD (as far as anyone knows), is to make this game Melody
to retain those numbers, and run DMD through his own official website, which has a different payment system
(called "Buy me a Coffee" I think). Hope that clears things up.
